Players of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are in for a test of their skills as they encounter the challenging shrines scattered throughout the game. Among these, the Tenmaten Shrine stands out as one of the Rauru's Blessing shrines, hidden deep underground. These shrines offer an unconventional experience by pushing players to solve puzzles outside of the shrine's walls. The Tenmaten Shrine's unique challenge centers around navigation and discovery. To help players tackle this challenge, here's everything they need to know about locating and conquering the Tenmaten Shrine.
Tenmaten Shrine Location
Link can access the Tenmaten Shrine by venturing through a hidden cave system located underground. The entrance to the cave can be found at the bottom of a well situated in the Hyrule Plains, northwest of the remnants of Hyrule Castle. To reach the well, players can either follow the coastline surrounding the castle's moat or fast travel to the Lindor's Brow Skyview Tower and glide towards the east. The well's location can be pinpointed at coordinates -0669, 1350, 0088, along a lower cliff of the Irch Plain. Upon entry into the well, Link will be greeted with the Elma Knolls Cave.
Tenmaten Shrine Walkthrough (Rauru’s Blessing)
Upon descending the well, the player will find themselves in a small pool of water, with Brightcaps and Brightbloom seeds scattered nearby. A torch and a pile of wood are also present, providing a subtle hint of the challenges that await them below. To progress further, the player must bravely jump into the nearby hole, landing in a larger pool of water shrouded in darkness.
In the vicinity of the pool, there are several Brightblooms, Brightcaps, and Glowing Cave Fish that emit light and help players locate dry land. To aid in navigation through the cave, players can use consumables that produce the Glow buff or wear Miner's Armor to generate enough illumination. Alternatively, players can toss nearby Brightbloom Seeds onto the ground, which will sprout into plants that emit sufficient light.
After leaving the pool, the player will come across two Horriblins that can be easily defeated. Moving further into the cave, a shrine can be seen in the distance, but it is separated by a large body of water. To provide adequate lighting, the player can use Brightbloom seeds to grow plants on the surface of the water.
Upon arriving at the water's edge, the player will notice several large planks of wood scattered about. With the aid of a Zonai Fan device, a sturdy raft can be constructed to easily traverse the water. For those without the device, swimming is the only option. To ensure a quick and safe journey, it is recommended to swim along the far left wall, using consumables to restore stamina as necessary, until reaching the opposite shore.
As the player reaches the other side, a fiery enemy will come in their way. The player needs to be quick and dodge the fireballs while waiting for an opportunity to attack. Once the enemy exposes its vulnerable stomach, it's time to strike and defeat it. After successfully handling the Fire Like, the player can proceed towards the shrine. On the back wall of the shrine, there are a few mineral veins that can be broken to collect some Luminous Stones.
Upon arrival, the shrine will immediately activate and grant the player access. Inside, they will discover a chest that contains a valuable reward: a Large Zonai Charge. The player can then progress towards the end of the shrine and interact with the statue, which will bestow upon them the coveted Light of Blessing and signal the completion of the shrine.
