Of all the skateboards in the latest collection, one particular design is attaining an unbelievably high value in the market.
The Golden Charizard Pokemon skateboard, adorned with the powerful Charizard against a gleaming gold backdrop and adorned with Japanese characters, is being auctioned off for a staggering sum exceeding $20,000 on eBay. This remarkable item is part of a recent collaboration between The Pokemon Company and Santa Cruz, resulting in a brilliant collection comprising 20 original designs. However, the current market now dictates that even unopened packages command a hefty price tag of $500 or more. Among the designs, five exclusive golden variations were particularly rare and showcased extraordinary illustrations of Pikachu, Eevee, Mew, Mimikyu, and the most elusive of them all, Charizard.
While this specific edition of Pokemon merchandise has yet to be sold, it is not out of the realm of possibility for someone to pay such a high price. The Pokemon brand often offers exclusive editions of cards, toys, and adorable plush Pokemon characters that can be quite valuable. Dot Esports discovered another listing for a golden Charizard skateboard that sold for $15,000 on eBay on September 22, confirming that these boards are indeed being sold at high prices.
While avid collectors may be eager to own a golden Charizard skateboard worth $20,000, some artistic fans may prefer to create their own unofficial decks at home. For example, one fan previously made a skateboard featuring all the Eeveelutions. More recently, another Pokemon enthusiast designed an illustration of the Gen 2 starter Cyndaquil to use on their skateboard. Although these homemade creations may not hold the same level of recognition as the rare golden Charizard, they are certainly a more affordable alternative that still looks impressive and catches the attention of fellow skaters on the streets.
