The Nuzlocke challenge has existed since the early days of the Pokémon franchise and has been attempted by countless fans throughout the years, across all core-series Pokémon games. Initially, the challenge consisted of only two straightforward rules: players can only catch the first wild Pokémon encountered in each area, without any exceptions, and any Pokémon that faints is considered permanently deceased. One lucky player, known as Firedarkness1101 on Reddit, had a remarkable encounter with a shiny Tarountula shortly after starting their Nuzlocke playthrough of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This rare Pokemon appeared along Poco Path, one of the initial areas in the game where players can catch wild Pokemon.

Shiny Pokemon have become a significant aspect of the franchise since their introduction in the Gen 2 games. Shiny hunting seems to be more popular than ever in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. These incredibly rare Pokemon differ from their regular counterparts solely in their coloration, featuring a distinctive body color. With a base spawn chance of 1 in 4096, it's no surprise that finding these shiny variants can be quite challenging. However, Scarlet and Violet introduce strategies to increase the odds of encountering a shiny Pokemon.

Despite the numerous flaws of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, these Gen 9 games still offer some remaining content. The upcoming Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be released in two separate expansions.
