Highlights

Talented Pokemon fan creates a new Psychic-type version of Kyogre named Kyancient with an eye-catching design and alien appearance.

Kyancient, a Water/Psychic type Pokemon, embarks on interplanetary journeys using its unique ability known as Seed of Life.

An imaginative Pokemon enthusiast has brilliantly transformed Kyogre into a Psychic type Pokemon, and generously shared the outcome with fellow fans. Over the span of nearly three decades, Pokemon has introduced an impressive collection of over 1,000 pocket monsters, comprising the illustrious Legendary Pokemon. These extraordinary creatures are revered for their immense strength and substantial significance within the Pokemon universe.

Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire introduced three of the franchise's most popular Legendary Pokemon: Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza. Groudon, a Ground-type Pokemon, is believed to have shaped the world's continents and represents the essence of the land. Kyogre, on the other hand, is a Water-type Pokemon born from intense underwater pressures. It engages in a fierce battle with Groudon for dominance. Rayquaza, a Dragon/Flying-type Pokemon, intervenes in this war between Kyogre and Groudon. Legend has it that Rayquaza resided in the ozone layer for thousands of years. After restoring peace, Rayquaza retreats to rest at the Sky Pillar.

A Reddit user named JJonnie has reimagined Kyogre as a Water/Psychic-type Pokemon named Kyancient. The artist's creation features a light pink body with golden outlines, reminiscent of Kyogre's powerful Primal form. Kyancient retains the pectoral fins and face similar to the original Pokemon. Additionally, the artist has added various structures all over Kyancient's body, giving it an otherworldly appearance resembling space creatures like Deoxys. The design of Kyancient draws inspiration from the Nazca Lines in Peru, particularly the depiction of a killer whale in one of the massive drawings.

In addition to its eye-catching design, JJonnie has developed a captivating lore for Kyancient. Kyogre, a Water-type Pokemon, is revered as the embodiment of the sea and the creator of the ocean. Similarly, Kyancient, a Water/Psychic-type Pokemon, roams the planets, bestowing the essence of life, a role comparable to Xerneas, one of the most formidable creatures in Pokemon X and Y. During battles, Kyancient's ability, Seed of Life, creates rainy weather and lush grassy terrain. While Kyancient's original form boasts a pink body, its shiny variant shares the deep blue hue of Kyogre.

The Pokemon community showcases immense creativity when inventing new forms for existing Pokemon, and JJonnie's artwork is no exception. The fusion of Kyancient's types is particularly striking as it pays homage to Kyogre while amplifying the Pokemon's otherworldly attributes. Regrettably, the original Kyogre does not appear in the Pokedex for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
