How to Unlock "Amber Dealer" Side Quest

Where to Farm Amber

Head over to Goron City and look for Ramella, a Gerudo Merchant, if you're looking to earn more Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom. Since Rupees are scarce in the game, selling gems is a good option if you have an excess.

How to Unlock "Amber Dealer" Side Quest

In the game Tears of the Kingdom, the value of Amber ore has significantly decreased as it has become easier to farm. However, players can still sell their Amber to Ramella for its full price in the side quest "Amber Dealer." Ramella can be a reliable merchant for players to sell their ore to, provided they are willing to part with it.

There are two ways of getting the "Amber Dealer" side quest:

Before "Yunobo of Goron City" main quest.

After "Yunobo of Goron City" main quest.

Before "Yunobo of Goron City"

For players making their first visit to Goron City, the path leading to Goron City (1649, 2447, 0381) is recommended. Upon arrival at one of the gates leading to the City, players may spot two Gorons enjoying Marbled Rock Roast (1501, 2376, 0362). As soon as they spot Link, they will approach him. Talking to them will reveal their interest in purchasing all of Link's ore for a mere 3 Rupees.

Agreeing to the fraudulent scheme will result in the intervention of a Gerudo Merchant named Ramella, who will prevent Link from handing over his ore. Ramella will then summon the Gorons, causing them to scatter in fear. Following this, she will propose to purchase 10 Amber from Link for the price of 200 Rupees, which is a significantly more favorable offer. This interaction will trigger the addition of the "Amber Dealer" side quest to the Adventure Log.

After "Yunobo of Goron City"

After finishing the Fire Temple and aiding Yunobo in his ascension as the Sage of Fire, players can encounter Ramella in Goron City. She can be found near the outdoor ore shop that specializes in sapphire (1660, 2466, 0385). To obtain the side quest, simply approach her and engage in conversation.

Players are likely to possess 10 Amber before talking to Ramella due to its commonness. However, if they don't have enough, they can search for Ore Deposits or Rare Ore Deposits in Goron City or the caves north of it, where YunoboCo HQ is located. It's important to note that players exploring the caves or mines in the Eldin Region should have flame-resistant armor, which can be purchased from Goron City's Armor Store. Alternatively, they can consume Flame Elixirs made by cooking a Smotherwing Butterfly or Fireproof Lizard with a Monster Part to withstand the heat.

Once Link sells 10 Amber, players will complete "Amber Dealer" side quest. From then on, players can sell 10 of a specific ore to Ramella. She'll cycle through the following gems:

Topaz: 1000

Sapphire: 1700

Ruby: 1300

Ramella will only request for a new type of gem after the condition of the previous gem has been fulfilled. In other words, she will not ask for 10 Diamonds if Link has not yet sold her the requested 10 Topaz.

Players may want to consider holding onto rare gems instead of selling them in bundles to Ramella, as diamonds can be used for crafting powerful weapons like the Lightscale Trident and Great Eagle Bow, while rubies and other gems are necessary for upgrading armor. Ultimately, it's up to the player to decide whether they want to prioritize financial gain or investing in their arsenal. Don't forget, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
