Leeds and Chelsea have failed to reach an agreement in talks regarding midfielder Tyler Adams, according to We News sources. Chelsea had been nearing the signing of the USA international by meeting the £20m release clause in his contract.
One source told We News on Thursday that Adams was set to have a medical in the next 24 hours ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge.

But Adams is now expected to return to Leeds where he has four years left on his current deal.
Last summer, Adams joined Leeds from RB Leipzig for approximately £20m but faced relegation with the club in his debut season.
Before the transfer window shuts on September 1, Chelsea is keen on acquiring two midfielders and has recently made a £48m offer for Southampton's Romeo Lavia.
Meanwhile, it appears that Moises Caicedo has turned down the opportunity to join Liverpool and instead, expressed a desire to transfer to Chelsea. This is despite Liverpool reaching an agreement with Brighton on a record-breaking £111m fee. Brighton places a valuation of £100m on Caicedo, who was absent from their last pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano amidst speculation surrounding his future.

Romeo Lavia is a target for Chelsea and Liverpool
Chelsea have submitted a £48 million bid for Lavia, which may lead to accelerated negotiations with Southampton within the next 24 hours. Although it is anticipated that the offer will be turned down, as Southampton remains firm on their £50 million valuation, the proximity of the bid might warrant further discussions between the clubs.
Liverpool have had three unsuccessful attempts to acquire Lavia during this summer transfer window, with the most recent offer valued at approximately £45m. Despite the club's efforts, Lavia still has four more years remaining on his Southampton contract, which he signed after leaving Manchester City last year.
However, given Saints' relegation from the Premier League last season, it is anticipated that the Belgium international will depart.
Lavia did not make an appearance in Southampton's victorious match against Sheffield Wednesday in the season's opening weekend. Furthermore, he was not included in the squad for the Carabao Cup loss against Gillingham on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, West Ham is performing a medical on Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse following the conclusion of a comprehensive agreement between the two clubs.
