Tiffany Haddish spoke out about being arrested for DUI after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel for a second time.
Haddish, 43, spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Monday, November 27, stating that she is seeking help to learn about balance and setting boundaries. She emphasized that the incident will not recur and shared that she has been feeling positive since her arrest.
It was reported earlier that the comedian was arrested on Friday, November 24, in Beverly Hills, California, after police responded to a call about a person parked in the middle of Beverly Drive who seemed to be asleep with the car running. Haddish was taken into custody for a DUI at the scene, according to TMZ.
Before the incident, Haddish had performed at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood on November 23, as part of the venue’s 43rd annual free Thanksgiving feast for locals. She then shared an Instagram video of herself dancing at Yachtley Crew’s concert after the show.
Haddish later tried to continue celebrating at another event, saying in a second video, “What up, y’all? Now, I’m in Inglewood [and I’m] trying to go to the Habesha party. Trying to get my East African on. You know, I’ve been partying with the white people. Now, I’m trying to party with my East Africans and they won’t let me in the club. They won’t let the hot dish in.”
In January 2022, Haddish faced a similar incident, as she had previously been involved in. Police in Atlanta responded to a call of someone asleep at the wheel and found her, resulting in her arrest for DUI and improper stopping on a roadway. She was later released on bond after posting $1,666. Haddish later joked about the situation on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, making light of her arrest and her recent split from Common.
