Whoopi Goldberg and Sara Haines put a fresh spin on the famous pottery scene from the 1990 film Ghost. The cohosts reenacted the romantic moment during the December 13 episode of The View. As part of a holiday gift segment, Goldberg, 68, and Haines, 46, showcased a motorized pottery wheel and Goldberg even sang the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody,” a song featured in the original movie scene with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze.

Goldberg, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as psychic Oda Mae Brown in the fantasy film, placed her fingers on the pottery wheel as Haines embraced her from behind, just like Swayze did to Moore in the original scene. The lights dimmed and the audience laughed as Goldberg commented, "We had to do it. You knew that was going to happen."

Goldberg previously referenced Ghost while discussing the 2024 election’s presidential candidates during a November episode of The View.

"Neglecting our needs and prioritizing power poses a danger to all of us. You in danger, girl!" she said, quoting her character from the film in which she delivered the famous line to Moore.

Ghost was also brought up on the talk show in May when guest Michael J. Fox disclosed that he had declined a role in the movie.

“I regret not taking the opportunity to work with you,” Fox, 62, confessed to Goldberg. "They approached me about Ghost in the early stages, but I dismissed it, saying, 'It'll never work.' I thought, 'Whoopi is fantastic, but it won't succeed.' I was proven wrong, and it turned out to be a massive success. I feel like a complete idiot!"

Goldberg was taken aback by the revelation and responded, "Well, you know what? There's still a chance."

The actress is working to preserve the film’s legacy, but the Ghost cast faced a tragic loss in 2009 with the passing of Swayze due to pancreatic cancer at the age of 57.

Goldberg shared in a statement during that time, "Patrick was a truly good and funny man, and I owe him so much that I can never repay. I believe in the message of Ghost, so he will always be close to my heart."
