After Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist revealed their divorce on Good Morning America, other morning hosts also shared their thoughts on the split.
Carson Daly commented on the news during the episode of Today on Friday, April 12. He mentioned, "This is breaking news. The Golden Bachelor, the first couple from The Bachelor's latest franchise, have just announced they have split."
While Daly, 50, was surprised by the breakup, cohost Al Roker was quick to poke fun.
“What? Who would have seen that coming?” Roker, 69, joked. “Unbelievable!”
The couple admitted that Turner, 72, and Nist split up shortly after getting married three months ago in a TV show called The Golden Wedding.
Roker jokingly commented, "It just proves that older folks can be just as foolish." Daly laughed and replied, "You said it, Al. Quite a timely joke after a breakup. Thanks, Uncle Al."
Meanwhile, on The View, the group was divided over the situation with Golden Bachelor superfan Sunny Hostin feeling let down.
"I got fooled by all of this," Hostin, who is 55 years old, expressed on Friday. "I'm really disappointed. I had high hopes because of their age and experience, thinking they would make better choices and find love, but it didn't happen."

Alyssa Farrah Griffin, the cohost, mentioned that the purpose of shows like The Golden Bachelor is not to find true love, but rather to observe if the social experiment is successful. On the other hand, Ana Navarro had a more critical perspective.
Navarro, 52, expressed her frustration with being constantly asked to discuss The Golden Bachelor on The View, calling it manufactured and fake. She took the opportunity to say, "I told you so" after the season ended.

Sara Haines shared that she thought that Turner and Nist’s biggest mistake was rushing into marriage, but Navarro disagreed.
Navarro admitted that the error was appearing on national television to pretend to have a relationship and love. She humorously remarked that she has had pimples that lasted longer than the marriage.
During the discussion, Joy Behar added a lighthearted comment, saying "She has money, he has Viagra. They'll be fine."
Turner and Nist announced their decision to end their marriage on Friday. Later that day, we learned that Turner had officially filed the paperwork. Despite their hopes of finding a home together in either New Jersey or South Carolina after getting married in January, they were unable to come to an agreement.
In a statement, Turner shared, “The most striking thing in our conversations has been our shared dedication to our families. We both feel that living apart is best for our individual happiness. I still have love for this person and I support her every day.”
The twosome's relationship may have been brief, but they were both thankful to Bachelor Nation for their support during their time together.
"We have been overwhelmed by the love and encouragement from all the viewers of the Golden Bachelor. It means a lot to us that our journey has inspired hope in so many people," Nist shared. "We hope that this support continues for everyone."

On The View, the discussion took a more critical turn. Sunny Hostin's disappointment and Ana Navarro's skepticism cast a shadow over the fairytale illusion created by the show.
