The upcoming Ahsoka Disney+ TV show appears to be drawing comparisons between Natasha Liu Bordizzo's portrayal of Sabine Wren and the deceased Jedi Master Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars Rebels. Lucasfilm's Dave Filoni suggests that Ahsoka is essentially the fifth season of Star Wars Rebels, featuring live-action adaptations of animated characters like Sabine Wren (played by Natashia Liu Bordizzo) and Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger (played by Eman Esfandi, although not yet seen in the trailers).

As the two youngest members onboard the Ghost, Ezra and Sabine formed a strong bond and worked exceptionally well together. In the final episode of Star Wars: Rebels, Sabine was the person Ezra communicated with in order to secretly confront Grand Admiral Thrawn. With the Ahsoka trailer hinting at Sabine Wren being a potential new Padawan, most viewers would assume she would be paired with Ezra. However, surprisingly, this is not the case.

One scene stands out as Sabine rides her speeder out of the capital city on Lothal, mirroring a similar scene with Kanan - even the camera angles are nearly identical. Additionally, the design of Sabine's speeder seems reminiscent of the one that Kanan used before his untimely death.

Another significant moment in the Ahsoka trailer showcases Sabine cutting her hair during a moment of decisive action. It's remarkable how the camera angles in this scene echo a similar moment involving Kanan in Star Wars Rebels season 4, episode 10 ("Jedi Night"). The cutting of the hair in both instances is done with a certain ritualistic flair, emphasizing the unmistakable resemblance between these two scenes.

Why Is Star Wars Paralleling Sabine With Kanan?

It's surprising that Sabine is parallel to Ezra instead of Kanan, in a visible and obvious way. This could mean that Sabine is trying to live up to her father-figure.
