The Tanner family from Full House has become iconic, but fans almost saw a completely different show with a different cast. Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber shared a photo of the original Tanner family on social media, featuring Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

The parents in the photo looked different from what fans of the show were used to. Bob Saget played the role of Tanner patriarch Danny, but the photo showed a different actor in that role. Pam, Danny's wife, was also visible in the picture.

The caption on the official Instagram account for Sweetin and Barber's "How Rude, Tanneritos" podcast account read: "No need to adjust your phones - here it is: a shot from the first unaired pilot of Full House. Things were... a little different. Can you imagine this version of the show?"

John Posey originally played the role of Danny in the unaired pilot of Full House, alongside an unnamed actress as Pam. However, Posey was ultimately replaced by Bob Saget before the show's debut on ABC. The character of Pam died before the series began and was never shown on-screen. The show, which aired from 1987 to 1995, follows Danny as he raises his three daughters - D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle - after his wife's death. His brother-in-law Jesse and best friend Joey move in to help him out.

The show also featured Barber, Lori Loughlin, and Steve Weinger, and was later revived by Netflix as Fuller House in 2016. Several original cast members made appearances throughout the spinoff's five-season run. Despite sharing their offscreen reunions over the years, Stamos, 60, recently confessed that Saget's death has altered the close-knit bond among the cast members.

“The loss of Bob was truly heartbreaking for many reasons. He was the one who truly held us all together,” Stamos shared with InStyle in October. “We make an effort to stay connected and communicate, but it's not the same as it used to be. We were like a family, and I believe that was evident to people, both on and off screen.”

Saget passed away at the age of 65 in January 2022 in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida. A month later, the medical examiner in Orange County, Florida, confirmed that Saget's death was caused by an "accidental" fall resulting in "blunt head trauma."

After Saget’s passing, the Full House cast issued a statement expressing their deep bond with him, saying, “Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. He was like a brother to us guys, a father to us girls, and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly.”
