In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players will find that much of the Hyrule map from Breath of the Wild has been reused. However, as this is a sequel, Hyrule has undergone changes due to the events in Tears of the Kingdom. These changes have affected the look and feel of many areas, making them appear different from what players remember.
Moreover, Tears of the Kingdom introduces new additions to the map of Hyrule. Players can now explore the vertical expansion of Hyrule, including new Sky Islands and the cavernous Depths.
Not only has the landscape changed, but the cities and villages have also experienced transformations. Lurelin Village, once a quaint beach town, has fallen into ruins following a monster invasion. Players must not only eliminate the monsters but also take on the task of rebuilding the village. Similarly, Kakariko Village now has the Zonai Ruins within its boundaries, while Goron City has gone through changes due to the eruption of Death Mountain. Even Gerudo Town, once bustling with life, has lost some of its vibrancy.
The idyllic Hateno Village reappears in the game, showcasing minor alterations attributed to the artistic vision of the renowned fashion designer, Cece. Thanks to its relative immunity from the tumultuous events of the Upheaval, Hateno appears largely unaltered. While lacking a central mission, it is advisable for players to explore this charming village as it offers numerous captivating and immersive side quests and adventures, one of which involves assisting a farmer named Dantz.
Where to Find Hateno Village
To embark on the quest called "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom," players should make their way to Hateno Village. Located in the Mount Lanaryu Region of Hyrule, this village can be found by heading East of Ginner Woods, South of Zelkoa Pond, and Northeast of Firly Pond. A convenient way to reach Hateno is to first make your way to the Mount Lanaryu Skyview Tower to the north of the village, and then make use of the trusty paraglider for a smooth descent.
How to Start Dantz’s Prize Cows
Once players enter the village, they will come across a character named Dantz at the Hateno Pasture during the daytime. Engaging in a conversation with him reveals his current predicament - he has completely exhausted his stock of special feed, resulting in a scarcity of his exceptional quality Fresh Milk. To produce the specialized feed, Dantz relies on gathering acorns from the neighboring Retsam Forest. Unfortunately, there has been a surge in squirrel activity lately, and they have been adeptly snatching away all the acorns.
Fortunately, this quest is simple to complete, especially for players who already possess acorns in their inventory. Dantz will request three acorns from players, making the quest a quick task for those prepared. However, for players without acorns, the most efficient way to acquire them would be to venture into the forest and either chop down trees or shoot squirrels with arrows.
Players should be aware that chopping down a tree does not guarantee the appearance of an acorn. It is usually necessary to chop down around 4-5 trees in order to obtain a single acorn. On the other hand, shooting squirrels also presents some challenges since these animals are easily startled and will flee if Link gets too close or makes excessive noise. Acorns can be discovered in various locations throughout the world, including the Great Sky Island, and can even be used as markers to indicate a path leading to the South Lomei Labyrinth.
Dantz’s Prize Cows Rewards
Dantz rewards players with a bottle of fresh milk in exchange for three acorns. The good news is that this is an ongoing offer - for every 3 acorns traded, players can receive more milk from Dantz. Although it may not seem significant, this is the perfect opportunity to obtain free milk for various culinary purposes, including those required by the Horse God Malanya. Don't miss out on this opportunity to play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, now available on the Nintendo Switch.
