The Fuse ability in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has opened up a world of possibilities for players, allowing them to explore their creativity and come up with innovative ways to use their weapons. In addition to enhancing the strength of weapons by combining them with enemy parts, Fuse can also aid Link in his journey through Hyrule by enabling him to craft weapons that are specifically designed for traversal and exploration.

To ensure that players are well-equipped for the challenges that lie ahead, it is essential to have a diverse range of weapons in their inventory at all times, whether they are navigating through harsh terrains or gathering valuable resources. Although there may be limited space in the inventory initially, players can expand their inventory by collecting Korok seeds and seeking the assistance of Hestu, which will enable them to carry more weapons and tools that can come in handy in various situations.

6 Ruby Rod

In Breath of the Wild, Link was able to wield powerful elemental weapons such as the Flameblade, Great Flameblade, and Flamespear, which were not only formidable in combat but also useful for navigating icy terrains. While these weapons are not available in Tears of the Kingdom, players can create a weapon with a similar effect by fusing materials together. By mining ore during their travels and fusing it to a one-handed weapon like a Magic Rod or Scepter, players can create a Ruby Rod that functions much like the Fire and Meteor Rod used by Wizzrobes. Equipping the Ruby Rod will also provide a heat boost for Link, and unlike the Flameblade, it will remain warm indefinitely instead of losing power after a short period of use. Additionally, rubies can be fused to arrows to deal devastating fire damage.

5 Boulder Hammer

Tears of the Kingdom has improved upon Breath of the Wild by increasing the number of ore deposits available for mining both above and below ground. These deposits are a valuable source of gems that can be either sold for Rupees or fused to weapons, arrows, and shields to enhance their abilities. While many weapons can destroy these deposits, it's best to use something disposable to avoid wasting a powerful weapon. The perfect weapon for this task is the Boulder Hammer, created by fusing a boulder with a two-handed weapon such as a Thick Stick, Sturdy Thick Stick, or Gnarled Thick Stick. This hammer can clear rocks with one strike, making it ideal for mining ore and exploring caves for Bubbul Gems by clearing out thick layers of rubble.

4 Stone Axe

The Stone Axe is a versatile weapon that players can easily craft during the tutorial while exploring the Great Sky Islands. They can also find pre-made Stone Axes at stables across Hyrule. To create this weapon, players need to gather Tree Branches and Wooden Sticks, and fuse them with flat stones that are commonly found in the area. Not only is it one of the easiest weapons to fuse, but it also serves multiple purposes beyond just cutting down trees.

The Stone Axe is particularly useful against Evermeans, as it spares bladed weapons from deterioration. It can also effectively break wooden boxes and barrels that often contain plenty of arrows. However, players should take note that the weapon can only be crafted using a stone and not a rock. If a rock is used in the fusion process, a hammer will be created instead.

3 Sapphire Rod

When exploring the Gerudo Desert, Link will encounter intense heat that can cause damage if he doesn't have a Heat Resistance outfit or Heat Resistance dishes made from cooling ingredients. However, there is a unique way to avoid the heat and survive in the desert without consuming dishes or wearing a specific outfit. By fusing a sapphire to a Magic Rod, Link can explore the desert without any harm. The Sapphire Rod works similarly to other ice-based weapons and cools Link down once equipped while also dealing elemental damage like the Ice Rod and Blizzard Rod. Additionally, the Sapphire Rod does not run out of power like the Iceblade, making it a reliable tool for exploring the desert's treasures.

2 Cobble Crusher

The Eldin region is home to Death Mountain and Goron City, where players can discover the powerful Cobble Crusher. This two-handed weapon, crafted by the Gorons for breaking rocks, boasts impressive durability - making it a must-have for ore mining, especially in the caverns located at the foot of Death Mountain. While the Cobble Crusher is not available for purchase, it can be found in designated areas in and around Goron City and Death Mountain, either lying around or hidden in chests. Additionally, enemies in this region may carry the weapon.

Given the difficulty in obtaining the Cobble Crusher, players should take care to monitor its condition and repair it before it breaks. To do so, they can return to the Eldin region and locate a Rock Octorok. By placing the weapon on the ground near one of these creatures, it will be sucked up and repaired, sometimes with an added boost.
