A Reddit user has designed a flyer utilizing Zonai Carts and a Hover Stone to ensnare an NPC and build up momentum, enabling players to soar across the vast landscape of Hyrule. The creator of this flyer embarked on a two-minute expedition, showcasing its remarkable potential as they traveled from Snowfield Stable to Martha's Landing.
A player of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom recently shared a peculiar yet remarkably successful NPC-powered flyer online. This innovative creation is just the newest addition to the multitude of inventions that have come from the continually advancing building meta of Tears of the Kingdom.
On October 12, it will be the five-month anniversary of the highly praised release of Tears of the Kingdom. Although numerous players have already completed the latest Zelda game, there are still those who remain completely immersed in its building mechanics. This is evident from the constant stream of intricate and complex Tears of the Kingdom contraptions being shared online.
The latest evidence supporting this trend is an NPC-powered flyer recently created by Reddit user divlogue. This machine consists of four Zonai Carts and one Hover Stone that extends into a single Stabilizer. The Stabilizer is positioned at a 45-degree angle relative to the rest of the platform, causing the vehicle to tilt slightly upwards. The momentum is generated by trapping an NPC between the carts and attaching a Zonai Stabilizer to the construction.
When activated, this invention achieves steady acceleration by taking advantage of the mechanic that typically causes characters to slip from Zonai devices. Since this unique machine is designed to prevent NPCs from getting out of its way, it tricks the game into continuously accelerating the trapped character, along with the surrounding Zonai devices. To demonstrate its capabilities, the creator of the vehicle flew from Tears of the Kingdom's Snowfield Stable in the northwest corner of Hyrule all the way to Martha's Landing in the south. The entire trip took less than two minutes, including intermittent pauses for the game to load the terrain due to the player's high speed.
The Japanese YouTuber, maythzelda, was praised by fans for discovering the hidden technique of NPC-powered flight in the game. While this method can potentially be utilized with any non-playable character in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, divlogue advises players to trap NPCs who do not flee when Link is using Ultrahand. These NPCs can mainly be found near the stables in the game.
Interestingly, this effective flying contraption is not the only unique invention created by the game's dedicated fanbase recently. In late September, a clever player developed a brilliant Tears of the Kingdom vehicle that uses three steering sticks for seamless land traversal.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Switch.
