Previously exclusive to the Taiwanese game client, the Zipao Tiger has now been made available internationally through the Recruit A Friend system. From September 26 to October 24, gamers can acquire the Zipao Tiger Pet as the latest Prime Gaming reward for World of Warcraft, as announced by Blizzard. This unique purple crystalline companion is exclusively available in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight and can be obtained at no extra cost for players who have successfully linked their Battle.net and Amazon Prime accounts.

Since April 2023, Amazon and Blizzard have collaborated for a year, introducing various cosmetic items for players to claim and utilize in World of Warcraft. The initial rewards included the Big Battle Bear and Feldrake mounts, both highly sought after. Prior to the Prime Gaming collaboration, the Feldrake mount was a rare item obtained through the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game via a loot card code. However, the current Prime Gaming reward stands apart from the Feldrake controversy and offers a completely different experience for World of Warcraft players.

World of Warcraft players who subscribe to Prime Gaming can now connect their Battle.net and Amazon Prime accounts to unlock the Zipao Tiger Pet. This unique purple feline companion was originally exclusive to the Taiwanese game client but has since been made available globally in World of Warcraft through the Recruit A Friend system. This system was introduced in 2013 after the "Siege of Orgrimmar" content update for the Mists of Pandaria expansion and remained active until 2019. It's worth noting that during the Battle for Azeroth era, several Recruit A Friend rewards were retired; however, Blizzard has stated that these rewards may make a comeback in the future.

The Zipao Tiger's return after almost four years is the latest demonstration of World of Warcraft's use of Prime Gaming to offer exclusive rewards to players. Like other companion pets in the game, the Zipao Tiger can participate in pet battles. It is classified as a Magic type with high health, making it an advantageous choice against Flying enemies.

The Zipao Tiger's comeback coincides with a busy period in World of Warcraft, with the Turbulent Timeways event and ongoing player testing of Patch 10.2 on the public test realm (PTR). While the pet's rarity may slightly diminish due to the Prime Gaming promotion, it remains uncertain how many World of Warcraft players will acquire it.
