The player would be accompanied by either Chespin, Torchic, or Squirtle, with Squirtle being the only starter Pokemon native to the Kanto region. Feudal Kanto introduces new regional forms for Chesnaught, Blaziken, and Blastoise, each inspired by traditional Japanese martial arts such as judo, karate, and sumo wrestling, respectively.
