10 One Piece characters that will play a major role in season 2 of Netflix's live-action adaptation
1) Smoker

Smoker, the initial Logia user introduced in the story, possesses the ability to control and transform his body into smoke by utilizing the Smoke-Smoke Fruit. Additionally, he exhibits great proficiency in wielding a jitte, which is equipped with a Seastone tip that instantly diminishes the powers of Devil Fruit users upon contact.
As the Navy officer overseeing Rogue Town, Smoker is widely expected to play a crucial role as a prominent character in season 2 of Netflix's One Piece Live Action adaptation. In the manga, he effortlessly defeated Luffy, with the latter only managing to escape thanks to the indispensable intervention of Dragon.
While the Straw Hats were en route to Arabasta, Smoker pursued them relentlessly. Being upright and honorable, Smoker perceived Luffy as a fundamentally decent individual, a sentiment that the pirate reciprocated. This encounter forged a profound sense of mutual respect between them, which endured throughout their numerous clashes.
Following the timeskip, Smoker's career soared as he climbed the ranks to Vice Admiral, ultimately assuming command of the prominent G-5 base in the treacherous New World.
2) Monkey D. Dragon

Born as the son of "Marine Hero" Monkey D. Garp, Dragon defies expectations by leading the Revolutionary Army, a radical group determined to dismantle the oppressive World Government. Renowned as the infamous "World's Worst Criminal," Dragon is believed to have the highest ever bounty on his head. While his importance in the overarching narrative is undeniable, Dragon's appearances in the One Piece series have been few and far between.
Dragon and Luffy have a deep bond as father and son, although they have not yet had a chance to meet face to face. Despite this, Dragon, being a passionate advocate for freedom, felt compelled to intervene when Smoker attempted to apprehend Luffy in Rogue Town.
3) Laboon

Upon arriving at Reverse Mountain, the Straw Hats encountered Laboon, a friendly whale who had formed a bond with the Rumbar Pirates many years ago. When they first met, Laboon was just a young whale, so the Rumbar Pirates entrusted her to the care of Crocus, with the promise of returning once they had completed their voyage.
Except for Brook, the entire crew tragically perished. However, they were able to preserve Laboon's cherished song on a Tone Dial, ensuring that their beloved whale would have the chance to hear it when Brook finally reunited with her.
Crocus recounted Laboon's tale to the Straw Hat Pirates, revealing how the whale would repeatedly strike her head against Reverse Mountain out of the frustration accumulated over 50 long years of waiting. Witnessing this, Luffy impulsively challenged Laboon to a fight before promising to come back in the future for a rematch.
This infused the whale with a revitalized outlook. Furthermore, Luffy skillfully adorned Laboon's head with the crew's emblem, jokingly stating that the artwork might fade should the whale collide with Reverse Mountain later on. Following their farewell to Laboon and Crocus, the Straw Hats embarked into the Grand Line.
4) Nefertari Vivi

Despite her royal status, Vivi embodies selflessness and is ready to make any sacrifice to safeguard her homeland. She undertook a daring mission to infiltrate Crocodile's Baroque Works and gain deeper insights into the organization's leader and objectives.
After the events in Whisky Peak, Vivi joined the Straw Hat Pirates in their mission to end the civil war in Arabasta and defeat the Baroque Works. With the invaluable assistance of the crew, Vivi successfully saved her country.
Due to her obligation to stay in Arabasta, Vivi was unable to continue traveling with the crew as she desired. Nevertheless, the Straw Hats regard Vivi and her loyal companion Karoo as honorary crew members, maintaining their genuine friendship.
Two years later, Vivi reappeared during the Levely. Following her escape from Mary Geoise, she is set to have a role in the current events.
5) Chopper

Originally a reindeer, Chopper consumed the Human-Human Fruit which granted him the power to reason and act like a human. Following Luffy's successful liberation of his homeland, Drum Island, from the oppressive ruler, Wapol, Chopper became an invaluable member of the Straw Hat Pirates, assuming the role of their talented physician.
Under the guidance of the eccentric yet kind-hearted Dr. Hiriluk, who served as a paternal figure, Chopper cultivated a fervor for the field of medicine. Following Hiriluk's passing, he then honed his skills under the tutelage of Dr. Kureha.
Despite his adorable and innocent appearance, Chopper is often misconstrued as the crew's pet. However, he is not only a skilled physician with a relentless pursuit to eradicate all illnesses worldwide, but also a proficient hand-to-hand combatant who can harness the power of Rumble Balls to trigger extraordinary metamorphoses.
6) Portgas D. Ace

Known globally as "Fire Fist" for wielding the Logia-class Flame-Flame Fruit, which grants him the ability to transform into fire and launch scorching assaults, Ace was the offspring of Gol D. Roger, the renowned Pirate King.
Taken under Garp's care as his grandchild, Ace became the adopted sibling of Luffy and Sabo, forging a tight bond as they were raised together. During his youth, Ace enlisted with the Whitebeard Pirates, swiftly ascending to become one of their esteemed core members.
Ace and Luffy were finally reunited during the Arabasta arc, after a long period of separation. As Luffy's elder brother, Ace felt a strong sense of protectiveness towards him, which the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates reciprocated with deep affection and admiration.
Driven by a desire for revenge against his former comrade Marshall D. Teach, commonly known as "Blackbeard," Ace's pursuit ultimately led to his defeat and captivity at Blackbeard's hands. Tragically, Ace met his demise during the devastating Paramount War in Marineford, wherein he bravely sacrificed his own life to shield Luffy from the ruthless assault of Admiral Akainu.
7) Miss All Sunday, aka Nico Robin

Following the fierce encounter with Crocodile, Luffy found himself teetering on the brink of death, suffering from the lethal effects of the Warlord's venomous hook. Surprisingly, salvation arrived in the form of Miss All Sunday, a secret operative of Baroque Works, who promptly administered the antidote, saving Luffy's life.
Haunted by a troubling past that hounded her since childhood, Nico Robin, with her extraordinary talent for deciphering Poneglyphs, became a desirable target. Eventually, she aligned herself with Crocodile's formidable organization, adopting the alias of Miss All Sunday.
Aware that Crocodile intended to exploit her to locate Pluton, an Ancient Weapon with the potential to devastate the world, Robin ultimately opted to align herself with the Straw Hats. With aspirations of uncovering the genuine history of the world, she assumed the role of the crew's archaeologist.
At a certain juncture, Robin temporarily departed from the Straw Hats in order to shield them from the World Government's wrath. Nevertheless, witnessing their selfless efforts to rescue her, she wholeheartedly embraced her place within the crew, utilizing the abilities granted by the Flower-Flower Fruit to further support their cause.

A highly regarded member of Crocodile's Baroque Works, Mr 2 "Bon Clay" consumed the Clone-Clone Fruit, granting him the power to deceive others through mimicry. Upon reaching Arabasta, the Straw Hats encountered Mr 2, who engaged in combat with Sanji.
With impressive martial arts prowess, Mr 2 skillfully parried Sanji's attacks, but was ultimately defeated by him. Touched by the Straw Hat crew's unshakable camaraderie, Mr 2, whose real name is Bentham, made the selfless choice to sacrifice himself in order to halt the Marines' pursuit of the pirates.
9) Mr 1, aka Daz Bones
Throughout Luffy's quest to find Ace in Impel Down, he was fortunate enough to encounter Bentham, a fellow inmate who quickly became a trusted companion and invaluable ally. Their bond grew so strong that Bentham, formerly a member of Baroque Works, bravely put his own life on the line to shield Luffy from the dangerous Magellan.
Daz Bones, as depicted in the Arabasta arc, is a skilled assassin and bounty hunter who became a member of Baroque Works. Within the organization, each male agent's codename corresponded to their level of strength, with lower numbers indicating greater power. As a result, Daz Bones, also known as Mr 1, emerged as the most formidable subordinate of Crocodile, who held the title of Mr 0.
With the power of the Dice-Dice Fruit, Daz possesses the ability to transform any body part into razor-sharp steel blades. This makes him a formidable force, capable of executing lethal attacks and effortlessly deflecting most incoming strikes.
During the events in Arabasta, Mr 1 showcased his extraordinary combat skills, posing a significant challenge for Roronoa Zoro. In order to triumph over his opponent, the Straw Hat Pirates' second-in-command had to enhance his physical abilities and master the art of cutting through steel. This newfound power can be deemed as an equivalent to Armament Haki.
10) Mr 0, aka Crocodile
After being defeated by Zoro, Daz found himself imprisoned in Impel Down. Nevertheless, he managed to escape with the help of Crocodile. Serving as the former Warlord's loyal accomplice, Daz joined forces with him during the Paramount War and, later on, as they ventured into the New World, they played a significant role in establishing the Cross Guild. As depicted in Arabasta (Image via Toei Animation, One Piece), Crocodile, a member of the Seven Warlords, devised an elaborate scheme called "Operation Utopia." In order to carry out his plan, he established the notorious Baroque Works organization, uniting a formidable cadre of bounty hunters. Crocodile's ultimate objective was to overthrow Nefertari Cobra, the legitimate ruler of Arabasta, and acquire the Ancient Weapon Pluton, rumored to be concealed within the kingdom.
Due to his excessive self-assurance and Luffy's unwavering resolve, Crocodile was ultimately defeated by the young pirate. After successfully evading Impel Down, he ventured into the New World alongside his loyal associate, Daz Bones.
Subsequent to the dismantling of the Warlords system, Crocodile promptly reached out to Dracule Mihawk, renowned as the World's Strongest Swordsman, to propose an alliance. Together, they established the formidable Cross Guild, an organization that the World Government swiftly recognized as a formidable Yonko-level menace.
Crocodile's ruthless mastermind persona, combined with his suave and sophisticated wielding of the Sand-Sand Fruit abilities, has cemented the Arabasta arc as an iconic masterpiece within Eiichiro Oda's One Piece.
