Understanding Herrscher of Rebirth's KitHerrscher of Rebirth Weapon Guide
Guide for Herrscher of Rebirth Stigmata
Honkai Impact 3rd has finally introduced the much-anticipated S-Rank battlesuit, unveiling Seele's transformation into the Herrscher form. Fans have long speculated that Seele would become the Herrscher of Death, but Honkai decided to take a different approach and revealed her as the Herrscher of Rebirth. Unlike her previous battlesuits, this unique version of Seele deviates from quantum typing and embraces psychic typing instead.
The Herrscher of Rebirth battlesuit is a unique psychic-type character with the ability to switch between two forms. Depending on her current form, she can either function as a powerful physical damage dealer or as a supportive character. Many players find her versatility appealing, although it is worth noting that building and playing physical teams can be challenging. To optimize her performance, it is recommended to equip her with specific gears (Prometheus and Dreamweaver for support form, or Prometheus and Herrscher of Sentience for DPS form).
This guide will provide instructions on how to build and play the Herrscher of Rebirth in each of her forms individually, as well as discuss what elements are common to both builds. Please note that this guide does not cover using the Herrscher of Rebirth in the Elysian Realm game mode. If you are interested in that aspect, please refer to our separate guide.
Understanding Herrscher of Rebirth's Kit
Herrscher of Rebirth has the ability to switch between two different forms. In the Soul Shaper form, Seele is accompanied by the spirit deer Diana and serves as a support unit. On the other hand, in the Life Binder form, Seele is accompanied by the flower spirit Flora and fulfills the role of an offensive DPS unit. The summon that accompanies Seele indicates which form she is currently in. If players see a deer fighting alongside Seele, it means she is in the Soul Shaper support form.
On the skill page of Herrscher of Rebirth, players can choose their default form. Each form provides bonus passives, which are displayed in a chart at the end of this section. It's worth noting that regardless of the default form, players can switch to the other form by tapping the ultimate button at any time. However, it is generally not recommended to do so due to differences in team requirements and potential build variations for each form.
No matter the form, a bar will always be present at the bottom of the screen, just above Seele's health. This bar is known as the Herrscher Charge bar. To fill this bar, the player needs to perform four consecutive basic attacks. Once the bar is completely filled, the player can unleash a combo attack by holding down the attack button, followed by tapping the attack button again to execute a joint combo.
Depending on the player's current form, completing this combo will result in different buffs. In the Soul Shaper (support) form, Seele's SP will be restored, the enemy's defense will be reduced, and they will take increased physical damage. In the Life Binder (DPS) form, completing the combo will also restore Seele's SP and make enemies take increased physical damage, but it will not strip the enemy's defense. Regardless of the form, this is the standard rotation that Herrscher of Rebirth will perform. The timing of QTEs and unit swaps will depend on which team she is currently in.
When it comes to the Herrscher of Rebirth's ultimate ability, the SP cost and effects vary depending on the two forms. Tapping it will always cause Seele to switch forms, so it should be avoided!
By holding the ultimate ability in Soul Shaper (support) form, "Dewy Twilight" will be left on the field. This debilitates enemies, making them more susceptible to physical damage, while also boosting Seele's weapon active ability and combo attack. Additionally, while "Dewy Twilight" is in effect, joint combos and joint weapon skills will further weaken enemy defense. Using the first joint combo in this state will prolong the duration of "Dewy Twilight."
In Life Binder (DPS) mode, Seele's ultimate inflicts damage on enemies and creates a mark on them. This mark increases the physical damage they take (specifically from her) and boosts Seele's critical hit rate against the marked enemies. The effects of "Dewy Twilight" persist even after Seele exits the battlefield. However, the ultimate's effect, when used in Life Binder form, ceases when she is swapped out.
For a quick recap of the two forms and how they differentiate from each other, here is a table showing the effects compared:
Form | 'Default' Passive | Combo Effect | Ultimate Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Soul Shaper (Support) | HoRB will have a higher max SP, and the team can convert overflow crit rate into crit damage. | HoRB will have her SP restored, and enemies will have their defense reduced and will take additional physical damage. | HoRB ultimate will leave "Dewy Twilight" on the field, rendering enemies impaired and vulnerable to physical damage. HoRB weapon active and combo attack will be enhanced, and joint combo and joint weapon skill will strip additional enemy defense. The first joint combo used in this state will extend the duration of the effect. The effect will not disappear if HoRB is swapped off-field. |
Life Binder (DPS) | HoRB will have a higher max HP, and enemies will take additional damage based on her max HP. | HoRB will have her SP restored and enemies will take additional physical damage. | HoRB will deal damage to the enemy and mark them. Marked enemies will take additional physical damage from HoRB, and she will have an increased crit rate against them. This effect will disappear if HoRB is swapped off-field. |
Before discussing weapons and stigmata, let's briefly touch on pulling duplicates and its significance for the Herrscher of Rebirth. It is not recommended to pull for duplicates unless players have already obtained all of her gear and have spare crystals that they are willing to use. As with all gacha games, it is important to spend responsibly, especially when using real money to support the Herrscher of Rebirth.
S1, S2, S3, SS1, SS2, and SS3 are simply increased level caps for Seele's existing skills. However, S2 is worth noting as it provides Seele with additional means of acquiring larger amounts of SP, which is something she struggles with. The most significant improvements for the Herrscher of Rebirth come at SS and SSS, and the exclusive skills obtained through duplicate pulls/fragments at these ranks can be found in the table below.
SS | HoRB will unlock the new skill, Resolve That Waves Indecision Goodbye. In Life Binder form, for every additional 0.5s of continuous attack during Joint Weapon Skill, the finishing slash deals 40% ATK of bonus Physical DMG. |
---|---|
SSS | HoRB will unlock the new skill, Overflow That Sunders Ruins. In Soul Shaper form, triggering global Time Fracture restores 15 SP. In Life Binder form, each cast of Ultimate makes it deal an extra 80% ATK of Physical DMG. 3 stacks max. |
Herrscher of Rebirth Weapon Guide
The weapon of the Herrscher of Rebirth holds great significance, just like many other characters in Honkai Impact 3rd. Obtaining this weapon is highly recommended, but in the unfortunate event of unsuccessful gacha pulls, this guide will explore alternative options.
The Herrscher of Rebirth's weapon-active ability remains accessible regardless of the equipped weapon, which sets her apart from previous Honkai Impact 3rd characters. This ability unleashes a joint weapon skill that inflicts physical damage, with the added benefit of grouping enemies when used in Soul Shaper (support) form.
The weapon players will strive for is known as the Life Harvester's Song. Equipping it enables all team members to restore SP when they leave the field in Herrscher form, while also granting increased physical damage to the team. Moreover, HoRB herself inflicts even greater physical damage, and enemies suffer additional physical damage when she is in Herrscher form. However, it is advisable for players to upgrade the weapon to its PRI-ARM version by acquiring the necessary PRI-ARM materials (Einstein's Torus and SC Metal-H2).
Once upgraded to its PRI-ARM variant, Life Harvester's Path: Shared Destiny, the weapon provides additional critical rate and boosts the damage of all team ultimate abilities after a joint attack successfully hits enemies. This enhanced effect lasts for 18 seconds and can only be triggered once during that period. Additionally, the previously mentioned passive effects will scale even further with the PRI-ARM variant, offering higher percentages of their respective benefits.
Alternative Weapons for Herrscher of Rebirth
The unique aspect of Herrscher of Rebirth is her constant presence in Herrscher form, unlike previous Herrscher characters. This means that any buffs mentioned in weapons, stigmata, or Elysian Realm signets that are exclusively active in Herrscher form will always be active for her, unless stated otherwise.
In the event that players are unable to obtain Life Harvester's Song from the gacha, there are several alternative weapons available to consider. However, it should be noted that these weapons will not perform as effectively as the intended weapon of HoRB. The good news is that players can acquire these alternative weapons for free if they exert enough effort.
Soul Shaper (Support) Form Alternative Weapon
If players plan on utilizing the Herrscher of Rebirth as a support character, they should strive to acquire the Skadi of Thrymheim as their alternative weapon. This particular weapon is the PRI-ARM variant of Skadi Ondurgud, and it can be obtained at no cost from Honkai Impact 3rd's exchange house. All that's required is 4,000 weapon resonance, which can be earned by salvaging any unused weapons players have acquired from gacha pulls or other sources.
If you wish to utilize this weapon effectively for the Herrscher of Rebirth, it is imperative to transform it into the PRI-ARM variant. This conversion is essential since the PRI-ARM includes a passive ability that replenishes a portion of the wielder's SP after attacking an enemy. As mentioned in this guide before, the Herrscher of Rebirth encounters challenges in SP regeneration, making this weapon particularly valuable for Seele's support form.
Life Binder (DPS) Form Alternative Weapon
For players looking to optimize Herrscher of Rebirth's DPS potential, it is recommended to acquire the PRI-ARM version of Path to Archeron called Path to Archeron: Kindred. Originally designed for Stygian Nymph, one of the previous Seele battlesuits, this weapon provides not only a slight healing effect but also boosts critical damage and physical damage.
Herrscher of Rebirth Stigmata Guide
: This weapon, similar to Skadi Ondurgud, can be acquired without spending any extra crystals. Instead, players can exchange 4,000 weapon resonance, a material obtained by salvaging unused weapons, at the Honkai Impact 3rd exchange house. The Herrscher of Rebirth's stigmata, much like her weapon, are crucial to her kit and highly recommended. In this guide, we will discuss alternative stigmata options that are acceptable but slightly inferior to her intended stigmata. However, before we delve into those alternatives, let's first understand what the intended stigmata can offer players.
The intended stigmata set, called the "Gracefully Alive" set, consists of three stigmata that depict different stages of HoRB Seele's life. Among these three, the most important is Seele: Herrscher of Rebirth (B). This stigmata introduces a new aspect to her kit known as the "Life's Pistil state." When HoRB triggers a global time fracture, all team members will enter this state, granting increased critical damage. This state can be continuously refreshed to maintain 100% uptime. The 2-piece and 3-piece set bonuses further enhance the effects of this state. However, even if players obtain Seele: Herrscher of Rebirth (T) and Seele: Herrscher of Rebirth (M), the Life's Pistil state cannot be achieved without Seele: Herrscher of Rebirth (B). The table below provides detailed information on the different stigmata and their set bonuses.
Stigmata | Effect |
---|---|
Seele: Herrscher of Rebirth (T) | Increases physical damage for HoRB, and when HoRB is in Herrscher form (100% of the time!), all team members deal additional crit DMG. |
Seele: Herrscher of Rebirth (M) | Increases physical damage for HoRB, and when one of HoRB summons are present (100% of the time!), HoRB deals even more physical DMG and takes less total DMG. |
Seele: Herrscher of Rebirth (B) | Increases HoRB's total DMG, and when she causes global time fracture, all team members enter Life's Pistil state, increasing their crit DMG. Every time HoRB enters or applies Life's Pistil state, her teammates gain an enhancement. This enhancement is consumed the next time HoRB enters or applies Life's Pistil state. |
Butterfly Transcending Death (2-piece set bonus) | Increases HoRB crit DMG, and all members gain additional crit rate. Furthermore, when in Life's Pistil state, all team members gain even more additional crit rate. |
Shadow Emerging from the Sea (3-piece set bonus) | Team members on the field deal more total DMG when in Life's Pistil state, and their ultimate and burst mode attacks deal even further total DMG on top of that. Enemies also take additional physical damage. |
Alternative Stigmata for Herrscher of Rebirth
If players cannot obtain the complete Gracefully Alive set, there are viable alternatives that do not result in significant loss. However, most of these alternatives are exclusive to existing characters and can only be obtained through the gacha, so players must already possess them or wait for a rated-up event banner. One of the challenges in building a physical team composition in Honkai Impact 3rd is the absence of suitable, free alternatives for physical stigmata.
If the player manages to acquire two of the intended stigmata set for HoRB, the following replacements for the missing stigmata are viable, along with instructions on how to obtain them.
Tesla: Band (T) - Craftable or exchange shop
Theresa: Gluttony (T) - Craftable
Susannah: Overtime (T) - Event Reward
Sirin: Ascendent (T) - Exchange shop (DPS form only)
Seele: Chant (T) - Event Reward (DPS form only)
Elysia (T) - Craftable (DPS form only)
Paganini (M) - Gacha
Mei: Beach (M) - Exchange shop
Elysia (M) - Craftable (DPS form only)
Bastet (M) - Gacha (DPS form only)
Elysia (B) - Craftable (DPS form only)
Isaac Newton (B) - Exchange shop (DPS form only)
If players were unsuccessful in their gacha pulls and failed to obtain any of the desired set, they can consider the following alternatives that offer complete sets. The table below provides details about these alternatives, including their context and how to obtain them.
Set | Context |
---|---|
Shattered Sword | This set belongs to the Herrscher of Sentience, and it can be attained from the gacha. This set can be used for both forms, though if Seele is the DPS of your team, you will likely already have Senti in your team utilizing it. This set provides buffs when a character is in Herrscher form, which, as previously discussed here, Herrscher of Rebirth always is. |
Sirin: Ascendant | This set belongs to the Herrscher of Void, and like the previous set, it primarily buffs characters who are in Herrscher form. This set can be attained in the exchange shop, and will primarily only benefit DPS form HoRB. |
Elysia | This set can be crafted if players devote to the grind, but it will only benefit DPS form HoRB. Furthermore, the 3-piece set bonus will not benefit HoRB at all, so replacing the Elysia (M) stigmata with an alternative could potentially be beneficial if the player has something more suitable. |
Alexandra | This set belongs to Dreamweaver. This set can be used on HoRB, but is only attained from the gacha and can only benefit DPS HoRB. |
Bronya Zaychik | This set belongs to the Herrscher of Truth, and primarily buffs ice DMG. That being said, it does provide buffs to the full team's total DMG as well, which is why it can be a somewhat viable alternative. However, like Elysia, it is recommended to avoid the Bronya Zaychik (M) stigmata if at all possible, as it does not benefit HoRB or her team, and neither does the 3-piece set bonus. This set is only attained from the gacha. |
Marco Polo | This is the set that Honkai Impact 3rd recommends as "economic" when you look at HoRB's in-game references, and it is entirely craftable. However, the set is simply not particularly good and will only provide relatively small bonuses specifically to DPS form HoRB. This is only recommended if you truly have nothing else and as a temporary measure, as Elysia would be more worth players' time to craft. |
Ryunosuke Akutagawa | This is the set that Honkai Impact 3rd recommends for "beginners." To put it bluntly, this set is very bad and is truly only here as an "I have literally nothing else that is even remotely useful" option, and replacing it should be an immediate priority. This set can be crafted, though most players will likely already have it as it is rewarded from the story. |
Honkai Impact 3rd is now available on Mobile and PC.
