However, obtaining it requires effort on the player's part, as it is not simply handed over. Despite this, it is actually accessible early on in the game for those who know where to look. Unlike in Breath of the Wild, the journey to acquire the shield within Hyrule Castle is much less treacherous.
Once obtained, the Hylian Shield becomes an essential item in the player's arsenal, boasting unparalleled durability compared to any other shield in the game. However, it is not invincible and will eventually break. As a result, some players may choose to delay retrieval until later in the game to ensure it lasts until the final battle.
