In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, numerous stable keepers offer quests to Link, tasking him with capturing a photo using his Camera. Each stable keeper has specific requirements and provides hints regarding the location where Link must go in order to capture the perfect shot. The resulting photo will be utilized by the stable keeper to create a painting that will be prominently displayed on the interior wall of the stable.
To take on these quests, certain conditions must be met before Link can accept them. Most of the quests become available once Link has completed any one of the temples in the game's main story quest. "A Picture for South Akkala" is an example of a quest that can be undertaken after clearing any of the four temples. Here's a guide on how Link can capture the perfect photo for this particular quest in Tears of the Kingdom.
A Picture for South Akkala Stable Quest Walkthrough
The South Akkala Stable, located in the southern part of the Akkala Highlands region, can be found at coordinates (3139, 1683, 0201). Situated at a crossroad, this stable serves as a gateway to multiple destinations. Traveling north from here will take you deeper into the Akkala Highlands, while heading east will lead you to Lake Akkala and Tarrey Town. For quick and convenient travel, the Mayachideg Shrine is the closest shrine for fast travel. Alternatively, players can teleport to the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower and glide southwest to easily reach the stable.
At the South Akkala Stable, Link must approach and engage with the vacant frame on the interior wall, capturing the attention of Dmitri, the stable's owner. Dmitri discloses to Link that he and his four daughters have unanimously determined that a depiction of the Unity Bell stationed in Tarrey Town would serve as the perfect painting for the frame. As Dmitri is presently swamped with tasks, the responsibility of venturing to the adjacent town and capturing a photograph of the bell falls upon Link.
To reach Tarrey Town from the South Akkala Stable, follow the eastern road that passes through the Torin Wetland and the Hudson Construction Site. Upon reaching the coast of Lake Akkala, there is a camp of mining Gorons where you'll find Zonai devices and a Zonai Device Dispenser. The bridge that leads to Tarrey Town is located on the opposite side of the lake. There are two ways to reach the town from here: either ride the minecart up to Tarrey Town or assemble a flying vehicle using the Zonai parts. To ride the minecart, simply board the platform and strike the attached Zonai device to get it started. Another option is to use fast travel and teleport to the Rasitakiwak Shrine, which is situated southeast of the town.
Once Link reaches Tarrey Town, he should head towards the town center where the Unity Bell tower is situated. Taking a perfect photo of the Unity Bell can be quite challenging. Link needs to position himself at an ideal distance from the bell so that the entire tower and most of the surrounding fountains are captured in the frame. To ensure a successful shot for the quest, the player should approach the fountain with the Camera focused on the tower. They should then gradually move backwards until a text bubble appears with the text "Unity Bell". Once this text appears, it indicates that the shot is properly framed, ensuring that enough of the tower and its surroundings are captured within the viewfinder.
After successfully capturing a satisfactory image of the Unity Bell, Link should make his way back to the South Akkala Stable and engage with the picture frame to grab Dmitri's attention. Then, the player can choose the photo they snapped and present it to Dmitri, who will excitedly embark on recreating it through a painting. Once the artwork is proudly displayed on the stable wall, Dmitri will generously award the player with 1 Pony Point and a delectable Prime Meat Stew, thereby concluding the quest titled "A Picture for South Akkala."
