Players seeking to upgrade their armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom must embark on a quest to find one of Hyrule's Great Fairies. However, due to the perilous state of the world, these mystical beings have retreated into hiding, and can only be summoned with the enchanting tones of their beloved instruments.
Where to Find Great Fairy Mija in TotK
Players can seek out Great Fairy Mija in the Tabantha Tundra at the coordinates -1461, 2995, 0305 in Tears of the Kingdom. However, before she will grant them access to her fountain, they must first complete the side adventure "Serenade to Mija." This is because she is aware of the dangers of the outside world and wants to ensure the players are capable of handling them before allowing them to enter her realm.
Players who have finished the side adventure "Serenade to a Great Fairy" can proceed to "Serenade to Mija" by visiting the Snowfield Stable, which is situated southwest of the Great Fairy Fountain at coordinates -1629, 2587, 0234.
A convenient way to reach the Snowfield Stable is by teleporting to the Orochium Shrine. Once there, players can easily locate Mastro and the Stable Trotters that Link has gathered.
Serenade to Mija Walkthrough
Players have the opportunity to consult with Mastro and gain insight into the Stable Trotters' adventure thus far. Their most recent engagements included a performance at Snowfield Stable and the adjacent Great Fairy Fountain. However, it appears that the Great Fairy Mija is unresponsive and unwilling to make an appearance.
Mastro reminisces about Mija's fondness for the music of their former troupe mate, Eustus. He suggests that the melodious notes of Eustus' horn could possibly alleviate the Great Fairy's concerns regarding the world beyond.
Mastro is uncertain of Eustus' location after their separation, but he has reason to believe that Eustus may have been near Tabantha Bridge Stable recently. A visitor to the stable reported hearing the sound of a horn, which could possibly indicate Eustus' presence in the area.
Finding Eustus
To reach the valley between Nero Hill and Piper Ridge, players should head south towards the coordinates -3654, 0766, 0117. To save time, players can first teleport to the Makurukis Shrine near the Tabantha Bridge Stable and then cross west over the Tabantha Great Bridge to reach their destination faster.
Upon arriving at the location, players may observe a small pit emitting a pillar of smoke, indicating Eustus' dire predicament. This occurrence is related to the side adventure called "The Hornist's Dramatic Escape."
In order to convince Eustus to return to the Stable Trotters, players must first help him out of his predicament by building a way for his wagon to escape the hole.
Once the rescue mission is accomplished, Eustus emerges from the pit holding his horn. Upon conversing with him, Link narrates the situation and Eustus readily consents to rejoin the Stable Trotters at the Snowfield Stable.
Repairing Breezer
The Great Fairy can only be awakened once Breezer, the wagon of the Stable Trotters, has its roof restored. Unfortunately, the harsh weather conditions make it impossible for the troupe to continue their journey without it.
Players have the option to utilize the available building materials to construct a temporary roof for the wagon. Once completed, Mastro will inspect the structure and determine if it meets safety standards before joining the troupe on board.
Players can utilize a Towing Harness to attach the wagon to their horse and transport the troupe up the snowy hill to the Great Fairy Fountain. For a more imaginative approach, players can incorporate their own Zonai Devices to Breezer and ferry the troupe in unconventional ways.
Once the Stable Trotters reach Mija's fountain, they will assemble and serenade the Great Fairy with Eustus and all their available members.
Enchanted by the mesmerizing melody, Mija surfaces from the fountain and warmly welcomes the troupe. Subsequently, players can pay a visit to Mija at her Great Fairy Fountain to enhance their armor. The extent of the upgrade is determined by the number of Great Fairy Fountains that the player can access, with the power scaling up alongside each fairy's prowess. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now accessible on the Nintendo Switch.
