The Ultimate Guide to Finding All Unique Horses in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Discover the ultimate guide to taming the six unique horses in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom From the ghostly Stalhorse to the regal Epona, uncover the locations and strategies to capture each one and ride in style throughout the kingdom

Stalhorses, the skeletal horses from Breath of the Wild, can be transferred from the game to Tears of the Kingdom once players complete the tutorial mode. Although they cannot be registered at a stable, Stalhorses are essential for traversing The Depths as Link is immune to the Gloom while riding them. In Tears of the Kingdom, players can find six unique horses that can be added to the stable registry, but they may want to leave space for some of the rare horses found in Hyrule. One such horse is the Stalhorse, which can be found in groups around Hyrule Field in The Depths at night. To avoid the effects of Gloom, players can drop in from the sky to tame them.

5 Spot

The Ultimate Guide to Finding All Unique Horses in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

While Stalhorses cannot be registered and do not have stat measurements, Spot is a valuable horse to have in the early stages of Tears of the Kingdom. Not only is he unique in his coloring and design, but he is also part of a side quest called "Spotting Spot," which culminates in Link being able to register him to the stables. Unlike most of the gentle-natured, 2/3-star average horses near Lookout Landing, Spot is an average horse with a bit of spunk.

To find Spot, players should head to -0332, -0043, 0023, which is a little southwest of Lookout Landing. Once registered, players have the option to rename Spot to something of their choosing. While he may not have any stat measurements, Spot is a reliable and unique addition to any player's stable.

Wild and Majestic: Meet the Giant White Stallion

4 Giant White Stallion

The Ultimate Guide to Finding All Unique Horses in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Get ready to witness the beauty of Tears of the Kingdom's very own Giant White Stallion. This magnificent creature is a sight to behold, with its striking white coat and imposing presence. A close relative of the Giant Horse from Breath of the Wild, the Giant White Stallion is a popular choice among riders.

Unlike its cousin, the Giant White Stallion can be found closer to a stable, making it easier to register. However, taming this wild beast is no easy feat. With a fiery temperament, players will need two and a half stamina wheels to successfully tame and ride this majestic creature.

Get ready to saddle up and experience the thrill of riding the Giant White Stallion in Tears of the Kingdom.

3 Giant Horse (Ganondorf's Horse)

The Ultimate Guide to Finding All Unique Horses in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

While the black flank and orange/red mane of the Giant Horse may bring back memories of Ganondorf's steed in Ocarina of Time, there are no indications that this horse is aligned with Ganondorf in the current timeline. Obtaining the Giant Horse is unique in that players can either tame it at Hateno Beach (4129, -2453, 0003) or transfer it from a previous BotW save file. It's important to note that if players already have a Giant Horse from their BotW file, it will not spawn at Hateno Beach in Tears of the Kingdom.

The Giant Horse is easily recognizable due to its towering height and it's often found surrounded by other horses in the wild. However, unlike the Giant White Stallion, the Giant Horse cannot be customized, sprint, or pull carriages. It shares the same impressive 5/5 strength stats as its white counterpart.

Golden Horse: A Unique Mount with a Gentle Temperament

2 Golden Horse (Zelda's Horse)

The Ultimate Guide to Finding All Unique Horses in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

In Breath of the Wild, players enjoyed taming regular-sized white stallions that were descendants of Zelda's horse. Although Tears of the Kingdom does not feature such a stallion, the game does offer a unique mount that belongs to Zelda herself. This golden horse is one of only two unique horses in the game that possess a gentle temperament.

To tame the golden horse/Zelda's Horse, players must venture to the North Tabantha Snowfield, north of Snowfield Stable in the Hebra region, at coordinates -1792, 2988, 0238. The process of taming the mount is part of a side adventure, which is necessary for players to complete if they want to obtain the Froggy Suit from the Lucky Gazette side adventure.
