The Hightail Lizard, known for its incredible speed, can be used by gamers to create Hasty Elixirs that enhance Link's speed when combined with certain monster parts. Furthermore, players must gather Hightail Lizards in order to advance the Climbing Gear armor at a Great Fairy Fountain. To upgrade a piece of Climbing Gear armor to tier two, five Hightail Lizards are required. Since there are three parts of armor to enhance, a total of 15 Hightail Lizards must be found.
Best Locations to Farm Hightail Lizards
According to the Hyrule Compendium entry for the Hightail Lizard, it is commonly found in Hyrule Field and Hyrule Ridge, although it is generally scattered in these areas. Fortunately, there is a specific location where players can easily obtain it, namely Satori Mountain. Situated south of Hyrule Ridge and west of Hyrule Field, this mountain offers two areas where Hightail Lizards can be farmed.
Hightail Lizards are frequently found beneath rock arches, and there is one particular location in the southern area of Satori Mountain (coordinates -2220, -0693, 0205) where you can spot them. This spot is conveniently situated near a small body of water.
Evermeans frequently drop Hightail Lizards upon defeat. Players will find a higher spawn rate of these lizards near the Sonapan Shrine's apple tree orchard (coordinates -1948, -0339, 0224). Utilizing an axe, gamers can swiftly defeat the Evermeans and gather their valuable items.
Catching Hightail Lizards is not overly challenging. Players should approach them quietly, and even if they make some noise, the lizards typically take a moment to react before fleeing. When multiple lizards are present in the same area, combining an elemental Chuchu Jelly with an arrow will create an explosion that incapacitates them.
To farm the lizards, gamers should collect them underneath the arch, visit the orchard, and then go back to the arch to see if more have appeared in the meantime.
