In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, numerous new items have been added for Link's quest to save Hyrule. Alongside these additions, popular items from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also make a return. However, due to the overwhelming number of options, players might find it necessary to prioritize the most beneficial materials. It will become clear to players that certain materials are utilized more frequently in Tears of the Kingdom, thus warranting their attention for farming. These materials range from ingredients that provide valuable stamina boosts and heart recovery to plants that illuminate the Depths. For players, obtaining these essential materials is crucial in progressing through the game.
6 Stamella Shroom
After narrowly escaping death at the hands of a mummified Ganondorf in the prologue, Link embarks on a quest to restore his depleted stamina and hearts. This can be achieved by trading Light of Blessings to Goddess statues. While the temptation to collect as many Heart Containers as possible at the beginning is strong, it is advisable to prioritize the collection of Stamina Vessels.
Although it may take some time, players will be pleased to find an abundance of ingredients scattered throughout Hyrule that can be used to increase Link's stamina in the meantime. Stamella Shrooms, in particular, are plentiful and can be utilized to create meals that will replenish Link's stamina when he engages in activities such as climbing and gliding.
5 Endura Carrot
Endura Carrots have different uses in two different games. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, they are used to provide extra stamina for Link. However, in Tears of the Kingdom, they serve a different purpose. Players can trade an Endura Carrot with Malanya, the God of Horses, to access his services. If players want to revive their horses, they need to give Malanya Roasted Endura Carrots. To enhance their horses' abilities, players can cook recipes like Vegetable Risotto, Carrot Cake, and Carrot Stew that involve Endura and Swift carrots. Although Endura Carrots can be used for other things, their interaction with Malanya has given them a new significance in Tears of the Kingdom.
4 Brightbloom Seeds
Brightbloom Seeds are abundant in Tears of the Kingdom, easily found in every cave that Link explores. Regardless of their size, players will discover around a dozen of these hidden gems within each cave. If players continuously gather these seeds, they will quickly accumulate a large supply.
While these seeds may not offer much assistance on the Surface, players will find them indispensable when exploring the Depths. Link has the option to either toss a Brightbloom Seed to brighten up an area or attach one to an arrow and shoot it into the distance. Additionally, these seeds have the ability to emit light when struck, providing an extra source of illumination in dark caves.
3 Elemental Fruit
In Tears of the Kingdom, elemental arrows are no longer used. Instead, Link must rely on a new addition to the game called elemental fruit. These can be found in specific areas of Hyrule. By fusing these fruits to arrows or throwing them, players can create different effects such as burning, freezing, or electrifying.
The first elemental fruits players will encounter are Fire Fruit and Dazzle Fruit. Later, they will come across Ice, Electric, and Splash Fruit. In addition to their primary effects, Dazzle Fruit can be used to stun enemies and quickly defeat Stal foes, while Splash Fruit can be used to get rid of sludge in Zora's Domain or to soak Link. When Link is soaked, he can briefly find relief in hot areas and enhance the power of Zora weapons with the Water Warrior trait, doubling their attack strength.
2 Bomb Flowers
Bomb Arrows cannot be found in Tears of the Kingdom, but Bomb Flowers have made a triumphant return. These flowers have been an iconic part of The Legend of Zelda series since their introduction in Ocarina of Time and have appeared in most games since then.
Similar to Brightbloom Seeds, Bomb Flowers can be discovered in various caves throughout Hyrule. Additionally, players can find them in the Depths, where they grow near the roots of large trees. This location also tends to yield other valuable materials for combat, such as Muddle Buds and Puffshrooms. Since Bomb Flowers are consumed faster than anticipated, it is advisable to farm them whenever possible.
1 Hearty Ingredients
Collecting Stamina Vessels should be the primary focus, as Heart Containers will quickly become less important. It is not advisable to face formidable foes such as Lynels or Hinox with only three hearts, unless skilled in parrying and other combat techniques.
Luckily, there is an abundance of Hearty ingredients scattered throughout Hyrule Kingdom, which can be easily obtained through farming. These ingredients include Truffles, found in caves, Radishes, found in woodland areas and the Sky Islands, as well as Hearty Bass, Hearty Lizards, and Hearty Blueshell Snails, among other seafood and critters.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is currently available on Switch.
