The Ultimate Guide to Dominating Raids with World of Warcraft's Augmentation Evokers

New Augmentation Evokers in World of Warcraft are revolutionizing raid encounters, demonstrating unparalleled power that can dramatically shorten boss fights and redefine endgame content

World of Warcraft players have discovered that Augmentation Evokers are essential in Mythic Keystone groups, but their ability to infinitely stack buffs in a raid setting has made many boss fights too easy or unchallenging. The introduction of Augmentation Evokers brought excitement to players who were looking forward to an official Support role. Speculation about a potential third specialization for Evokers has been building since the release of Dragonflight, and Patch 10.1.5 represents a culmination of those expectations.

Although some fans were concerned that Augmentation Evokers would become mandatory in groups due to their role in buffing other damage dealers, Ion Hazzikostas, the game's developer, tried to reassure the community that Blizzard's goal was to create a raid environment where every class could find a place. However, players did not anticipate that Augmentation Evokers would have the power to easily defeat any boss fight, even in the current tier of content.

Whereas higher Mythic Keystone groups all seem to demand the services of an Augmentation Evoker, the ability to endlessly apply their powerful buffs to a damage dealer has severely disrupted World of Warcraft raids. Boss fights that used to last eight minutes are now resolved in a mere twenty seconds, thanks to Bicepspump from Kazzak who organized a remarkable Heroic Aberrus run on Twitch. During this event, a group consisting of twenty-two Augmentation Evokers, two Unholy Death Knights, and two Shadow Priests demonstrated just how overpowered the new Support class truly is.

Unholy Death Knights are shown to be dealing an impressive 3.5M DPS per fight in the logs. This is largely due to the combined buffs from Augmentation Evokers and Power Infusion from Shadow Priests. The situation is beyond belief, as many players had expressed concerns about the potential issues with Augmentation stacking before the release of Fractures in Time for World of Warcraft. It is surprising to see how powerful twenty-two Evokers can be in a raid.

However, for the sake of the game's raid scene and the integrity of its endgame, changes need to be made to Augmentation Evokers. While Support classes are an important part of World of Warcraft's future, their current state cannot be maintained. The simplest solution would be to impose a cap on Prescience, Ebon Might, and Temporal Wound. These buffs have the ability to stack infinitely, which is the main reason for the astronomical damage numbers. Although this strategy may not be a concern for Mythic due to its smaller group size, it is unlikely that developers intended for Heroic Aberrus in World of Warcraft to be easily trivialized by the new Evoker class.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
