Similar to its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom introduces a classic Zelda monster and transforms it into a challenging miniboss for players. Gleeoks, three-headed dragons, take on the role of the primary objective in the side quest called "Unknown Three-Headed Monster."

In Tears of the Kingdom, Gleeoks come in four variations: Flame, Ice, Thunder, and the formidable King Gleeok. To complete the "Unknown Three-Headed Monster" quest, Link must defeat a Flame-Gleeok. However, players may choose to postpone this side quest until they have strengthened themselves and acquired superior weapons and armor.

After completing all the "WANTED" side quests, Link can approach Gralens once again to gather information about recent monster sightings. It is recommended to specifically ask about the notorious "three-headed monster." By doing so, this enigmatic creature will be documented in the Adventure Log as the "Unknown Three-Headed Monster" and a designated destination marker will materialize on the map.

It is rumored that near Faron, at the Bridge of Hylia, there is a terrifying creature with three heads that can breathe fire. To stand a chance against this monster, players are advised to come prepared with the following items:

- A sturdy bow

Arrows

Keese Eyeballs (or Aerocuda Eyeballs). Ice Keese Eyeballs will deal double damage for this miniboss.

(optional) Vow of Mineru/Mineru's Construct

"Unknown Three-Headed Monster" Location

Located a short distance southeast of the Great Plateau, the Bridge of Hylia can be reached by taking a leisurely stroll from a nearby shrine. Alternatively, players can make a thrilling dive from the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower (0602, -2118, 0098). While not mandatory, utilizing the Glide Set/Wingsuit can greatly facilitate smooth aerial navigation.

Being in close proximity to Flame-Gleeok can result in harm to Link. If players opt for a close-quarters combat approach, they should consider equipping flame-resistant gear like the Desert Voe Armor. Nevertheless, the most effective method to defeat Gleeoks is by continuously stunning them. Achieving this can be accomplished by utilizing a bow and targeting their heads.

Tips for Defeating Flame Gleeok

To gain an advantage over Gleeoks, players should consider attacking from a higher position. For the Great Bridge of Hylia encounter, it is recommended to glide from the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower. Once in close proximity to the Gleeok, players should initiate a dive by pressing the R-button. Next, they can draw their bow using the ZR-button, which will slow down time. This will enable Link to accurately aim arrows at each of the Gleeok heads. When the Gleeok becomes stunned, players should focus on targeting their heads with a melee weapon.

Phase 1-2

If players possess Mineru's Construct, they have the capability to ascend onto its back by pressing the A-button, and subsequently launch themselves into the air by pressing the B-button followed by the A-button. Precisely as Link disengages from the construct, swiftly press the ZR-button to trigger bullet time. Utilize the arrows to aim at the heads of adversaries, ensuring the shots are fired before Link makes contact with the ground.

To enhance their gameplay, players should consider combining Keese Eyeballs or Aerocuda Eyeballs with arrows. These eyeballs act as homing missiles, ensuring a guaranteed critical hit on the Gleeok as long as it remains within range. Furthermore, players can stun the Gleeok swiftly by utilizing Mineru's Construct as a springboard.

In the event that the Flame Gleeok knocks Link off the edge, he should promptly climb up one of the pillars supporting the bridge. One of these pillars is broken, providing Link with a safe spot to stand and utilize the Ascend Ability.

Phase 3

To prevent the Gleeok from flying out of Link's reach, swiftly shoot Keese Eyeball-arrows before it ascends too high. When the creature begins its attack charge, swiftly evade the incoming meteor. Subsequently, as the meteor strikes the ground, it will generate an updraft. By deploying the paraglider above this updraft, Link can effectively approach the creature and skillfully pierce its heads with arrows.

Once all heads are stunned, the Gleeok will fall and crash into the ground. Gleeoks take fall-damage just like Link, so when they drop from this height, they'll be defeated.
