"Unknown Sky Giant" Reward
In Tears of the Kingdom, there are both familiar and new monsters to encounter. Some of these new monsters have been introduced to the Zelda franchise. Consequently, hunting down these fresh adversaries has become an important component of various side quests available at Lookout Landing. Among these quests is the "Unknown Sky Giant," which becomes unlockable as players lend their assistance.
It is advisable for players to tackle the "Unknown Sky Giant" when Link has a greater number of heart containers and more powerful weapons. This quest involves defeating a golem miniboss known as the Flux Construct I. Although they are the weakest type of Flux Constructs, they pose a significant threat to those who are new to Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Unlock "Unknown Sky Giant"
After finishing the tutorial mode on the Great Sky Island and obtaining the Paraglider from Purah, players can make their way to the Lookout Landing Shelter. There, they can find Gralens, who is situated next to the wall-mounted map in the shelter. It should be easy to spot him.
If Link decides to inquire about the monster sightings, Gralens will assign him three side quests:
WANTED: Hinox
WANTED: Stone Talus
WANTED: Molduga
These side quests can be undertaken at any given moment. Players can conveniently track one of these quests by accessing the Adventure Log. Once initiated, a yellow marker will appear on the map, indicating the precise whereabouts of the miniboss. While the Hinox poses as the nearest adversary to Lookout Landing, reaching the Stone Talus and Molduga will require some extensive travel.
Link must complete the "WANTED" side quests before he can attempt the remaining three Monster-Control Crew side quests, including "Unknown Sky Giant."
"Unknown Sky Giant" Walkthrough
After finishing the three "WANTED" side quests, make sure to approach Gralens once again and inquire about the trio of monsters. Direct your questions towards the "sky giant" to receive information regarding the "Unknown Sky Giant." This reveals the presence of a colossal creature inhabiting one of the Sky Islands located in the western Hebra region. Thankfully, players have the convenience of marking the precise location of this formidable miniboss in the Adventure Log, significantly facilitating their pursuit.
Before embarking on the side quest, ensure that you have bomb arrows and a powerful weapon at your disposal. It is also advisable to have a few Sages with you, especially the Vow of Yunobo. For those who want to add a touch of creativity, stocking up on Zonai Springs for the boss fight can be a smart move.
"Unknown Sky Giant" Location
Located near the Wind Temple, the "Sky Giant" is a powerful Flux Construct I golem. Players can conveniently reach this towering creature by warping to the Ijo-o Shrine (-3887, 2787, 0709), if they have already activated it. To access the lower island housing the Flux Construct I, simply leap from the island where the Ijo-o Shrine is located.
Weapons are ineffective against its body. To cause damage, players should target the Flux Construct Core, represented by a green block. As the construct's health diminishes, the location of the green block will change. If Link manages to strike the green block with enough force, the Flux Construct's body will temporarily crumble.
After defeating it, collect the materials that it drops and fuse the Flux Construct Core with a weapon. Since it is only a Flux Construct I, its core is not as powerful as those of its stronger counterparts. Nonetheless, it serves well as a tool for breaking ores. Afterward, warp back to Lookout Landing and inform Gralens about the positive outcome.
Tips for Defeating Flux Construct I
Attempting to immobilize the Flux Construct as frequently as achievable is highly recommended. This can be accomplished by:
To cause the construct's body to fall apart, players can either shoot the core with a bomb arrow or use the Ultrahand on it and shake it loose. The latter method may be riskier as Link's movement speed decreases when using Ultrahand, but it serves as an alternative for players who do not have bomb flowers.
Once the construct's body is damaged, quickly head towards the green core and deliver multiple strikes.
If Link has obtained Zonai Springs, he can stack them to propel himself into the air. Utilize the paraglider to approach the core and equip the bow (ZR-button). This will activate slow motion, enhancing players' accuracy and facilitating shooting at the Flux Construct.
"Unknown Sky Giant" Reward
Hand in the "Unknown Sky Giant" side quest to Gralens and receive a reward of 100 Rupees. If players have already vanquished Flux Construct I, the reward can be obtained right away. Subsequently, players can concentrate on finishing the remaining two "Unknown [Monster]" side quests. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now accessible on Nintendo Switch.
