Where to Use Acorns

In Tears of the Kingdom, cutting down trees can yield a variety of materials, including Hylian Pine Cones and Korok Leaves, making it an ideal method for farming. Additionally, certain areas may also drop Acorns from trees, which can be utilized in cooking.

Interestingly, Acorns are not as commonly found on The Surface in Tears of the Kingdom compared to Breath of the Wild. Therefore, players are advised to gather them early on in their journey, as Acorns can be traded for a future side quest in TotK. Prior to embarking on an Acorn Hunting expedition, it is recommended to bring along a weapon and bow that can be sacrificed if necessary.

Acorns Locations: Where to Find Them

Acorns are frequently found as drops from trees and can be obtained when Link uses a blade to cut down trees. Players also have the option to combine a sharp rock with a stick to create a makeshift Stone Axe. Moreover, the Master Sword, with its ability to recharge instead of break, serves as an effective tool for woodcutting.

An alternative method to gather Acorns is by shooting squirrels. Each time a squirrel is eliminated, it will yield an Acorn. These small creatures are commonly found near forests in Hyrule Field or East Necluda.

Great Sky Island

In the starting area of Great Sky Island, players can collect acorns from the trees. To find these trees, open the map and navigate towards the areas with abundant foliage. It is recommended to begin the journey from either the Ukouh Shrine or the Temple of Time, heading south. For woodcutting, equip yourself with either a Stone Axe or a Rusted Weapon. It is important to note that not every tree will yield acorns, so players should persistently cut them down until they are satisfied with their collection.

To the north of the Ancient Hateno Tech Lab lies the Retsam Forest (3849, -2018, 0192), a sanctuary for countless squirrels. To avoid startling these skittish creatures, Link is advised to rely on his trusty bow for a stealthy approach. Similar to woodcutting, it is recommended to equip a bow that can be sacrificed in the pursuit of this furred bounty. Unlike woodcutting, however, squirrels always drop precious Acorns, making this method a guaranteed means of resource gathering.

Where to Use Acorns

Visit the Hateno Pasture in Hateno Village to meet Dantz, who offers the "Dantz's Prize Cows" side quest. Dantz is in need of acorns for his cow's special feed, but there is a scarcity due to increased squirrel activity in Hateno Village. To help Dantz, players can trade three acorns in exchange for one Fresh Milk. This is a more cost-effective option compared to purchasing Fresh Milk from the Hateno general store or a traveling merchant near Kakariko Village.
