In the previous main scenario quest of Final Fantasy 16, Clive had to take a detour to a tower where Barnabas was waiting. Due to a barrier blocking the path to the last Mother Crystal, the only way forward was to face Odin's Dominant. Despite Barnabas being a formidable opponent, Clive ultimately emerged victorious and unintentionally gained some new powers.
Now that Barnabas is no longer a threat, Clive and his allies can refocus on reaching the final Mother Crystal. However, there is still a significant distance between them and their objective. While Gav goes to escort a survivor to safety, Clive and Joshua continue their journey. Players of Final Fantasy 16 can anticipate what lies ahead as they embark on the main scenario quest "Brotherhood".
This walkthrough contains spoilers, so players should proceed with caution.
Onward to Stonhyrr
After the removal of the barrier, players are free to continue their journey towards Stonhyrr. The next destination is the Mothers' Mines, located to the north. To exit the town, simply approach the gate and press the "R2" button to remove the board blocking the way. On their path, players will encounter a side quest named "Laid to Rest". This optional quest offers a reward of 1,200 Gil and 30 Renown. It is worth noting that this quest takes place in an area that players will naturally pass through.
If players are low on supplies, they can fast travel back to the Hideaway if needed.
Continue progressing along the northern path and pass through the gate. Within the subsequent area, players of Final Fantasy 16 will encounter numerous extensive enemy groups that emerge consecutively. Ultimately, a sizable horde of orcs must be confronted. Once all adversaries have been vanquished, players may replenish their health if necessary and proceed through the gate to continue their journey to Stonhyrr. On the right side within the gate, a chest awaits.
After passing through the gate, a brief cutscene will play, revealing the final Mothercrystal in the distance. Descend the stairs and approach the obelisk to activate fast travel for this area. If players have selected the "Laid to Rest" side quest, it can be accessed by heading left between Kritten Hollow and Vidargraes.
To progress the story, follow the northeast road leading to Stonhyrr. Be prepared for numerous enemies in this vicinity. Upon approaching the obelisk, fast travel will be unlocked and a cutscene will initiate. Once the cutscene concludes, the map will unlock, granting players the ability to journey to Drake's Spine.
Players also have the option to return to previous areas and complete side quests before proceeding. In case players do not possess Ragnarok or Gotterdammerung, Blackthorne can be relied upon for crafting Everdark, a reliable sword. Additionally, Charon offers a new consumable called Last Elixir, which, although priced at 20,000 Gil, automatically restores players to full health if they are defeated in battle. Moreover, it enhances attack power and defense for a duration of one minute.
Players can now search for various new Notorious Marks in Ash after Barnabas has been eliminated. As Final Fantasy 16 nears its end, players should consider their remaining tasks before progressing with the story. The next main scenario quest will initiate upon arrival at Drake's Spine. Final Fantasy 16 can be played on PlayStation 5.
