With Diablo 4 now available for around ten days, players have had the chance to dive into its gameplay loop and explore various in-game systems, particularly those related to loot and stats. As with previous entries in the franchise, the rarity of items in Diablo 4 determines the best gear available in the game, including highly sought-after Uniques such as Harlequin Crest and The Grandfather. While these items are not class-specific, they are currently considered the best in the game. For Druids, the nature-based class has a total of 8 Unique items, some of which offer powerful benefits while others may not be as valuable in the current metagame. With frequent balance patches, it's possible that Blizzard may make changes to these items based on player feedback and usage.
S Tier
Insatiable Fury Mad Wolf's Glee
These two armor pieces are highly coveted by Druid players in Diablo 4 due to their formidable effects. One enhances the effectiveness of Werebear builds by making it the player's permanent form and granting two additional ranks to all Werebear skills, while the other does the same for Werewolf builds. This opens up new build options for players and can even be crucial in creating successful Lightning Werewolf hybrid builds. These are truly the best Unique items for Druids in the game.
A Tier
The Druid class in Diablo 4 offers some fantastic options with three Unique items that stand out for their usefulness in certain builds. While not as game-changing as other items, the Greatstaff of the Crone is an essential tool for players looking to create a Lightning Werewolf build. This item enables Claw to become a Storm skill that also casts Storm Strike with increased damage, making it an excellent choice for those seeking to maximize their damage output. Tempest Roar, another great item, promotes the same type of build by transforming every Storm Skill into a Werewolf Skill, while also providing occasional Spirit generation upon use. Finally, Vasily's Prayer is perfect for players interested in Earth skills and Werebear abilities, as it allows Earth skills to become Werebear abilities while also providing Fortify on use.
B Tier
Storm's Companion and Waxing Gibbous, while still viable Uniques, may not be the top choice for Diablo 4's endgame. Storm's Companion's exclusive focus on the Wolves skill, which increases Lightning damage and grants the Storm Howl skill, may provide some utility but lacks the same impact as other options. Additionally, Waxing Gibbous provides players with Stealth when using Shred and guarantees critical strikes when breaking Stealth, which is an intriguing concept but ultimately falls short in practice.
C Tier
The current state of the Hybrid Werebear and Werewolf build in Diablo 4's Nightmare Dungeons and other activities is not favorable due to its lack of viability. Unfortunately, Hunter's Zenith doesn't improve their situation at all. Its activation is solely reliant on kills with shapeshifting skills, and it only offers limited benefits such as making Werebear skills cost no resources after a Werewolf ability kill, and allowing Werewolf skills to heal the user following an enemy kill with a Werebear ability.
Diablo 4 launches on June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
