Summary
In the Pokemon anime, most evil deeds are carried out by Pokemon under the influence of their trainers, but a few episodes introduce a pure evil Pokemon.
In the episode "A Conspiracy to Conquer!", a mesmerizing Malamar manipulates Team Rocket and Officer Jenny, plotting to achieve global domination.
With its exceptional intellect and formidable psychic abilities, Malamar poses a significant threat as a malevolent antagonist. It raises concerns that there might be other wicked Pokemon possessing similar strengths.
In the Pokémon anime, there is generally a lack of evil Pokémon. Instead, we often see Pokémon performing malicious acts due to their trainers' commands. However, there are a few episodes in XY that deviate from this norm and introduce a Pokémon that is purely malicious. This results in a truly horrifying scenario.
In the episode titled "A Conspiracy to Conquer!", Team Rocket is ensnared by a mysterious woman named "Madame X" and her Pokémon, Malamar. Using its hypnotizing abilities, Malamar takes control of Team Rocket's actions. Meowth manages to escape and seeks assistance from Ash and his friends. Unfortunately, one by one, everyone except Meowth and Ash falls under the control of Malamar, becoming pawns in its plans. The situation becomes even more dire when it is revealed that Madame X is actually Officer Jenny, who is also being manipulated by the mind control abilities of Malamar. It turns out that Malamar itself is the mastermind behind this wicked scheme, and it manages to escape, ready to continue its quest for world domination.
Malamar Proves How Dangerous Intelligent Pokémon Could Be
The Malamar featured in this episode displays remarkable intelligence and psychic abilities. It manipulates numerous individuals simultaneously, showcasing its impressive powers. Unlike other evil Pokémon, Malamar acts independently, driven solely by its own desires. In a subsequent episode titled "Facing the Grand Design!", Malamar joins forces with two other malicious Malamar, compelling scientists to create a dangerous weapon. Remarkably, the trio manages to escape, leaving the possibility of other world-conquering evil Pokémon in existence.
Malamar's motivations for world domination remain unknown, as it demonstrates a belief that it has the ability and right to rule. Although it could be speculated that Malamar seeks revenge, like Mewtwo, no specific target is identified. Their extraordinary intelligence suggests potential experimentation, yet the origin and purpose remain mysterious. It's important to note that not all Malamar possess this malevolence, as demonstrated by the friendly Inkay and Malamar who thwart the plans of the evil Malamar in the second episode.
Evil Pokémon Could Threaten the World
Fortunately, evil Pokémon are quite rare, but considering the vast number of wild Pokémon in existence, it is highly likely that there are many more out there. The abilities possessed by these Pokémon, even those that are not of the Psychic-type like Malamar, have the potential to cause significant destruction. The malevolent intentions of just a few of these Pokémon towards humans could result in immense strife and suffering. It is possible that the responsibility of defeating such evil-minded Pokémon falls upon Legendary Pokémon, as they are known to maintain balance and harmony. Nevertheless, there are still at least three incredibly intelligent and powerful evil Pokémon roaming freely, capable of acting without restraint... and Ash may not be present to thwart them in the future.
