The Secret of Alara'shinu: A World of Warcraft Discovery

Discover the hidden Demon Hunter secret in Patch 10.2 that has captivated World of Warcraft fans and added a touch of magic to the game.

The Discovery of Alara'shinu

World of Warcraft fans recently discovered a Demon Hunter-exclusive secret that gives them Alara’shinu, a special weapon with a unique cosmetic effect. While Demon Hunters have this new World of Warcraft weapon equipped or transmogged, some of their abilities spawn a trail of flowers behind them. Patch 10.2, Guardians of the Dream, has been live for over a month now. During that time, players have discovered heartfelt quests, gorgeous cosmetics, and cameos from characters who haven’t been seen since vanilla World of Warcraft.

However, it seems there are still some other secrets players have only just begun to uncover in the Emerald Dream. Just recently, World of Warcraft players Starverse, Ryldor, Scarseeker, and Saltarith from the Veiled Glaive guild found a hidden secret available only to Demon Hunters. By following a series of clues from a Demon Hunter NPC in the new Dragonflight zone, they discovered Alara’shinu–a powerful weapon with a special cosmetic flair. While Alara’shinu is equipped or transmogged, Fel Rush, Infernal Strike, and Vengeful Retreat leave a trail of flowers behind the character when used.

Obtaining Alara'shinu

To obtain the Alara’shinu Glaives in WoW, Demon Hunters must follow a series of steps. First, they need to speak with Landeron Felfury east of the Dream Warden’s barracks at the Central Encampment in the Emerald Dream zone. Then, they must travel to the Broken Shore, where they will locate a green circle and view the memory of Landeron. Afterward, they need to go to the Temple of Elune in Val’sharah and view another memory. Finally, they must interact with the warglaive when the glowing stag appears after the memory plays out. Returning to Landeron after getting the glaive gives some bonus flavor text, but is otherwise optional.

Implications and Excitement

Fans were excited to discover this brand new Demon Hunter secret. From a narrative perspective, the implications of Elune accepting the Demon Hunters are a big deal for many lore fiends. The cosmetic flowering effect the glaives give to a Demon Hunter’s abilities is also quite charming, and fits well with some of the gear players can get in Patch 10.2. Were that not enough, Alara’shinu is easy to get and can be upgraded to be almost as powerful as Amirdrassil raid gear in World of Warcraft, so it is a solid weapon for Demon Hunters to increase their item level.

Considering it took nearly two months to discover this secret, there may be other mysteries to find in the Emerald Dream. As players explore the mystic realm, they should be sure to keep an eye out for any other secrets World of Warcraft may still be hiding.
