Warning! The seventh episode of Ahsoka has some major spoilers.
In this episode, there is a significant reference to Asajj Ventress, much to the excitement of Star Wars fans. Anakin Skywalker, portrayed by Hayden Christensen, mentions the name of this former Sith assassin for the first time in live-action. This milestone has created a wave of excitement, particularly among fans of the animated Clone Wars series, who have taken to the internet to express their enthusiasm.
In the beginning of Ahsoka episode 7, the Jedi protagonist (played by Rosario Dawson) is seen practicing her skills with a holographic projection of her master Anakin Skywalker. As she trains, Skywalker's recorded message mentions the three most influential figures from the Clone Wars era, who were part of the Separatist Alliance. However, it is one name in particular that has sparked great excitement on Twitter. @nightwaynes, for instance, was left "speechless" by this revelation. Another user, @joaovjttor, expressed their joy at the mention of Ventress, sharing a series of images featuring the Sith assassin from The Clone Wars.
QuiGonJenna's confirmation further solidifies the belief held by numerous Star Wars enthusiasts that Ahsoka has truly become an invaluable presence in the Clone Wars series. The mere mention of the name Ventress even evoked emotional reactions from fans, like @cinecomical.
For @lihothelizard, the reference to Asajj Ventress in live-action is an answer to hopes and prayers:
Ahsoka Finally Gives Ventress The Respect She Deserves
Anakin himself mentioned in his holo-recording, "In this war, you will encounter adversaries beyond droids. General Grievous, Asajj Ventress, even Count Dooku. Any one of them could confront you on the battlefield." Grievous and Dooku appeared in the prequel films, while Ventress was exclusively featured in the animated Clone Wars series. Therefore, Skywalker's mention of Ventress is significant for the new Star Wars show. Ventress had a highly captivating storyline in the Clone Wars, particularly when she was betrayed by Dooku despite being his apprentice.
Given all the connections and revelations related to the Nightsisters in Ahsoka, it's fitting that Asajj Ventress' name is mentioned for the first time in a show that extensively references her fellow sisters, with whom she was reunited after Dooku's betrayal. Despite not having her complete story and redemption portrayed in the final seasons of Clone Wars, it was ultimately disclosed in Christie Golden's novel Dark Disciple. Nonetheless, it is thrilling to see Ventress finally receiving the recognition she deserves through this new live-action reference in Ahsoka.
New episodes of Ahsoka are released on Disney+ every Tuesday at 6 pm PT / 9 pm ET.
