However, given the current direction of the series, it is unlikely that we will witness a substantial portrayal of Thrawn himself. The show is presumably preparing Thrawn for a significant role within the Star Wars franchise, and there is a possibility that he will be portrayed as the primary antagonist in the upcoming Mandalorian movie. Ahsoka's purpose is to build up to Thrawn and establish him as the next imminent threat to the galaxy, without requiring an extensive depiction of Thrawn in the process.

The focus of the series is on the journey rather than the destination, suggesting that Lars Mikkelsen's portrayal of Thrawn may only make a brief appearance towards the end of the show.
