The previous record holder was Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which sold 12 million units in 24 days. What sets these two games apart is that they are available in both physical and digital formats, while the previous record holder, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, was only available physically when it sold 10 million copies in its first eight weeks.

One streamer spent almost 140 hours completing the game with 100% completion, and it remains to be seen how many other players will finish the game and how long it will take them to do so.
