Discovering the Northern Icehouse in Tears of the KingdomNavigating through the Gerudo Region can be quite challenging for first-time players of Tears of the Kingdom. While en route to Gerudo Town, players may come across the North Gerudo Ruins. By continuing north, they will eventually stumble upon the Northern Icehouse. This location offers an opportunity to complete a straightforward side quest that yields a modest reward.
Players can tackle the Iceless Icehouse side quest at their convenience, whether it's before or after completing the Tears of the Kingdom's Lightning Temple. It's highly recommended to bring along an Ice Fruit and Fire Fruit, or other elemental Chuchu Jelly or gems to aid in the quest.
Where is the Northern Icehouse?
Located at the coordinates -3747, -2306, 0040, players can discover the Northern Icehouse. It is situated at the furthest point north of the North Gerudo Ruins (-3769, -2646, 0032), which is a necessary location to visit in order to complete the main quest "Riju of the Gerudo."
To reach the Northern Icehouse, there are multiple starting points available, but it is suggested to begin from the following locations: Gerudo Town (-3875, -2864, 0043) by heading north towards the Icehouse, Kara Kara Bazaar (-3273, -2551, 0023) by heading west towards the Icehouse, or Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower (-3966, -1260, 0426) by gliding south from the Tower towards the Icehouse's coordinates.
The Iceless Icehouse Walkthrough (How to Melt Ice)
For players who are new to the Gerudo Region, the map will initially be obscured upon entering the desert or wasteland. The harsh desert storm also makes it difficult to see, but utilizing the updrafts can help clear the map by rising above the clouds. Those departing from the Kara Kara Bazaar can make use of the Sand Seal found near the bazaar's Shrine to make traversing the sandy terrain much easier.
Upon entering the Icehouse, you'll encounter a Gerudo who will enlighten you on the facility's purpose. The ice within is used to cool drinks at the Noble Canteen in Gerudo Town. By conversing with her, you'll activate "The Iceless Icehouse" side quest and it will be recorded in your Adventure Log.
To access "The Iceless Icehouse" side quest, players do not require any prerequisites. However, it is advisable to attempt it after finishing the Lighting Temple to make locating the icehouse simpler. To proceed with the quest, players must freeze a block of ice and fit it into the cavity in the wall. Here are the necessary steps to accomplish this task:
