According to Famitsu, a Japanese gaming publication, Naoki Yoshida, the director of Final Fantasy 14, discussed the potential of developing an animated or television series based on the MMORPG during a joint interview. Yoshida expressed his openness to the idea and his desire to pursue it. However, due to his numerous roles within Square Enix, he believes that it is currently not feasible to take on such a project. It is worth noting that Yoshida serves as both the director of FF14 and the Head of Creative Business Unit III, responsible for Final Fantasy 16, in addition to being a member of the company's Final Fantasy Committee.

Fortunately, Yoshida has not completely rejected the idea of a Final Fantasy 14 anime or TV series. He mentioned that they have received inquiries about it, but currently there are no plans to pursue it. However, he assures fans that if they do decide to go ahead, Square Enix will ensure a high-quality production. Fans may remember the Korean animated commercial for the game, which gives an idea of the level of quality that can be expected. For now, players can look forward to the upcoming content that the developers have confirmed.
