Warning! This article contains spoilers for Ahsoka episode 8.
Summary
With Ezra's help, Ahsoka and Sabine can scout the galaxy for additional purrgil, possibly aiding their journey back home from Peridea. Furthermore, Peridea offers the potential of harboring portals to the main Star Wars galaxy, opening up the possibility for Ahsoka and Sabine to utilize one of these portals to make their way back.
There is a possibility that Peridea is actually Mortis, and if Ahsoka reconnects with the Mortis gods, she may find a way back home at the right time.
The Ahsoka finale concludes season 1 with thrilling action, featuring Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano and Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren. Stranded on Peridea, they face the challenge of finding a way back to the main Star Wars galaxy. Although they successfully return Eman Esfandi's Ezra Bridger home, it comes at the cost of Grand Admiral Thrawn's escape. Ahsoka and Sabine find themselves trapped in his former place of exile, while Thrawn establishes his base on the planet of Dathomir. The characters have now switched their positions, adding to the complexity of their predicament.
Despite their stranded situation on Peridea, Ahsoka firmly believes that both she and Sabine are in the exact place they are meant to be, just like Ezra. However, they are not alone in being left behind. Baylan and Shin have also found themselves on Peridea, with Baylan searching for a connection to the Mortis gods, and Shin assuming control over the red-armored bandits. As both Baylan and Shin potentially pose threats to Ahsoka and Sabine, their urgency to return home only grows. Yet, the big question remains: how will they manage to do so without their own intergalactic hyperspace ring? Here, we present six theories on how Ahsoka and Sabine can find their way back home.
6 Ahsoka & Sabine Find More Purrgil In The Galaxy
Although Peridea serves as the purrgil's final resting place, where they willingly merge with the cosmos, the group of purrgil that Ahsoka initially accompanied did not partake in this sacred passage. Instead, they eluded Thrawn's assault by immediately thrusting themselves into hyperspace, transporting to a different realm within the galaxy or returning to their original habitat. Thus, it is apparent that the purrgil need not meet their demise at Peridea unless they are prepared to do so, despite it being their designated sanctuary. If Ahsoka can once again tap into her profound connection with the purrgil, this time with the aid of Sabine and their joint mastery of the Force, they might possibly discover additional purrgil capable of leading them back to their point of origin from Peridea. And with Ezra's persuasive abilities, there is a potential for the purrgil to replicate this journey in reverse on the opposing side.
5 Peridea Contains Portals To The Main Star Wars Galaxy
Certainly, Peridea possesses a strong affinity with the Force, particularly due to its historical connection with the Dathomiri, who are known for their Force sensitivity. Considering that other Force-sensitive worlds, like Lothal from Star Wars Rebels, have harbored portals to the ethereal realm known as the World Between Worlds, it is plausible to envision Peridea having at least one such portal as well. The appearance of Anakin Skywalker's Force ghost further adds credence to this possibility, as Ahsoka encountered him in the World Between Worlds before. And now, both Ahsoka and Anakin find themselves on Peridea. If Ahsoka and Sabine manage to discover this portal, they could potentially utilize it to journey back to Lothal or any other planet within their galaxy, thus enabling their return home.
4 Peridea Is Mortis, & A Way Home Is Opened
In the Ahsoka finale, Baylan Skoll is seen surrounded by statues of the Mortis gods, specifically the Father, the Son, and a damaged representation of the Daughter. This raises the question of why Peridea has such a tribute to the Mortis gods. The planet's powerful attraction prompted Baylan to sense it from afar, suggesting a significant connection to these Force deities.
It is plausible that Peridea is, in fact, Mortis itself, and that Ahsoka has previously visited this planet and galaxy. On her last trip, Mortis provided an opportunity for her to return home. If Ahsoka were to reignite her connection to the Mortis gods, particularly as the living embodiment of the Daughter, a similar opportunity could arise, leading them back to their intended destination at the perfect moment.
3 Ahsoka & Sabine Discover A Nightsister Path
As the true homeworld of the Nightsisters of Dathomir, Peridea may hold more intergalactic secrets than meets the eye. At some point in galactic history, the Nightsisters managed to navigate from Peridea back to the main Star Wars galaxy - and this event could have occurred recently enough for the Great Mothers to have had knowledge of Mother Talzin, who resided in the main galaxy. If Ahsoka and Sabine can uncover more about the Nightsisters' history on the planet, they may also stumble upon a revolutionary method of returning home. After all, teleportation is a power inherent to the Nightsisters.
2 Ahsoka & Sabine Use The Force To Guide Themselves Back
In the early days of hyperspace travel, the purrgil took the lead in discovering new routes. However, during the High Republic era, the Jedi joined forces with Republic Pathfinders to chart fresh lanes. Thanks to their ability to harness the Force, they were able to map out efficient and secure pathways throughout the galaxy. Considering the Jedi's past accomplishments, it's highly likely that they still possess this capability. Mapping a hyperspace lane between galaxies would undoubtedly be an arduous endeavor. Nevertheless, if Ahsoka and Sabine devote their time to meditation and deepening their connection to the Force, there's a chance they could rely on its guidance to find their way back home.
1 The Jedi Of Old Come To Their Aid
Ahsoka's Peridea is a known Force focal point, drawing comparisons to planets like Exegol. If Ahsoka and Sabine were to reach out to the old Jedi through the Force, they might receive assistance in the form of a purrgil transport or a portal back home. Ahsoka's familiarity with the Jedi whose voices Rey heard on Exegol could be advantageous in seeking their aid. All episodes of Ahsoka are available for streaming on Disney+.
