The premiere of Solo Leveling anime has introduced fans to the series' protagonist Sung Jin-Woo and where he fits into the world of Hunters. The anime also showcased several other Hunters as part of the Double Dungeon exploration team, but it was the strong Hunter Cha Hae-In who stole the spotlight. As the S-Rank Hunter, Cha Hae-In stopped a robbery by effortlessly thwarting two thieves who attempted to make a getaway on a motorcycle, all while reclaiming the stolen handbag.

Solo Leveling: Who is Cha Hae-In?
The image above shows Cha Hae-In as seen in her role in Solo Leveling, which she played under the A-1 Pictures production.
Cha Hae-In is a prominent character in Solo Leveling, serving as the female lead and also playing a significant role as a major supporting character in the series. She is known as an S-Rank Hunter and holds the position of Vice-Guild Master of the Hunters Guild.
She gained her abilities two years prior to the start of the series. Luckily, she was classified as an S-Rank Hunter. Surprisingly, she also became the only female S-Rank Hunter in Korea. Her strength surpassed her peers to the extent that she is considered the third strongest Hunter in Korea, just after the series protagonist Sung Jin-Woo and Go Gunhee.

Despite her high rank, Cha Hae-In is known for her dedicated training with the C-Rank Hunter Song Chi-Yul, proving that she doesn't discriminate against lower-ranked hunters. In fact, she has admitted that Song Chi-Yul surpasses her in swordplay due to his rigorous training.
Despite her high rank and beauty, Cha Hae-In struggles with social interactions and is socially awkward, as evidenced by her quick departure from the crime scene in the first episode. It was not to avoid the crowd, but rather due to her discomfort with attention.

This is also the reason why Cha Hae-In appears to have few friends. She often becomes flustered, embarrassed, and shy when someone asks her something. This was also evident in the manga when she became flustered after a guild member asked her why she chose a pickaxe as a weapon.
As for her abilities, Cha Hae-In is skilled in three main moves - Sword Dance, Sword of Light, and Quake of Provocation. Sword Dance boosts her attack speed, while Sword of Light enhances her sword's cutting power. Quake of Provocation allows Cha Hae-In to generate a small earthquake by driving her sword into the ground.

Finally, Cha Hae-In possessed a unique ability known as "Mana Smell," which heightened her sensitivity to the scent of mana. As a result, Hunters and Monsters emitted a foul odor to her, with Sung Jin-Woo being the only exception due to his status as a Monarch Vassal through the System. This distinct trait piqued Cha Hae-In's interest in him, eventually leading to a romantic attraction after Sung Jin-Woo saved her.

As a Gen Z netizen, I am thrilled about the Solo Leveling anime and the introduction of the enigmatic female protagonist, Cha Hae-In. Her strength, determination, and unique abilities make her an intriguing character. I appreciate that she doesn't discriminate against lower-ranked hunters and is willing to train with them to improve her skills. However, her social awkwardness and lack of friends add a relatable and endearing quality to her character.
Cha Hae-In's unique ability, "Mana Smell," adds an interesting twist to the story and her interactions with Sung Jin-Woo. The fact that he is the only one who doesn't emit a foul odor to her due to his status as a Monarch Vassal creates a compelling dynamic between them. I am excited to see how their relationship develops and how Cha Hae-In's character evolves throughout the anime. Overall, I believe Cha Hae-In is a well-crafted character who brings depth and complexity to the Solo Leveling universe.
