In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Hyrule is filled with hidden secrets, including an intricate underground system of caves and wells brimming with weapons and valuable treasures. Certain side quests and adventures will lead players through these hidden pathways. One such quest, "A Deal With the Statue," requires players to venture into an underground tunnel to meet a mysterious stone creature.

Along the way, players will unlock a beneficial feature that enhances their heart and stamina reserves, making this adventure highly worthwhile. Follow these steps to locate and successfully complete the "A Deal with the Statue" quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

A Deal With the Statue Walkthrough

"A Deal With the Statue" begins at Lookout Landing within the Emergency Shelter. Lookout Landing is one of the initial locations Link will visit in Hyrule after completing the game's introduction in the Sky Islands. Players need to have initiated the "Regional Phenomena" main quest and successfully completed at least one of the four boss battles in order to unlock the availability of "A Deal With the Statue." Once these requirements are met, proceed to Lookout Landing in Central Hyrule using the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and locate the Emergency Shelter.

The entrance to the Emergency Shelter is a sizable hole situated in the center of Lookout Landing. If the doors are not open, players must engage in conversation with the guard nearby. Afterwards, they can leap inside and discover Jerrin, a cleaning lady, diligently sweeping in the corner adjacent to a small hole in the wall.

Upon talking to Jerrin, she reveals that she has heard a mysterious voice emanating from the depths of the hole. Consumed by fear that the voice may belong to a malevolent demon, players have the opportunity to offer their assistance by venturing into the hole to investigate. Embracing this endeavor will activate a captivating side quest titled "Who Goes There?" To enter the hole, players must guide Link to crouch down by pressing the left stick on the joypad.

The Royal Hidden Passage is an underground tunnel accessible through a hole. However, the path is obstructed by large boulders that can be demolished either by using a rock hammer or a Bomb Flower. It is important to note that using the rock hammer is the safer option. Craft hammers by employing the Fuse ability, combining a rock with either a stick or a sword. Ensure that you have at least two or three hammers at your disposal to successfully clear the pathway of all the stones.

As players venture further into the Royal Hidden Passage, an eerie voice beckons them closer, creating an unsettling atmosphere. When they come across a fork in the road with the option to proceed forward or take a right turn, breaking the rocks on the right unveils the mysterious speaker. The one responsible for the unsettling voice is none other than The Forbidden Horned Statue, a horned statue that may ring a bell for players familiar with the Horned Statue from Breath of the Wild.

When Link first interacts with The Forbidden Horned Statue, it will confiscate one of his heart vessels, initiating the "A Deal With the Statue" side quest. Upon further discussion, the statue will propose a transaction and return the confiscated heart vessel. The transaction entails the player selling a Heart or Stamina vessel to the statue for 100 Rupees, with the option to repurchase either vessel for 120 Rupees. This arrangement allows players to exchange a Heart or Stamina vessel as needed for a minimal fee of 20 Rupees.

After the Forbidden Horned Statue finishes speaking, completing "A Deal With the Statue," players have the option to go back to the Emergency Shelter and inform Jerrin about their findings to complete the "Who Goes There?" quest.
