Patrick Mahomes was given a heartwarming goodbye from his 2-year-old daughter Sterling as he left for NFL training camp. The quarterback's wife, Brittany Mahomes (formerly Matthews), posted a video of the touching moment on her Instagram Story on July 18. In the video, Brittany, 27, captured Sterling waving goodbye to Patrick as he drove away in his car.

The toddler bid farewell to her father, saying "Bye-bye, Daddy. Love you." Following this, Brittany instructed their eldest child to blow kisses to Patrick, who is 27 years old. Sterling willingly obeyed, adding a loud "mwah" to emphasize the gesture. Brittany then added a caption to the heartwarming video: "Sending @patrickmahomes off to camp ❤️."

Patrick and Brittany, who are also parents to their seven-month-old son Bronze, recently provided insights into their family dynamics in the Netflix docuseries Quarterback. The series was released on July 12 and during the Los Angeles premiere, the couple expressed their excitement in showcasing glimpses of their everyday life.

Brittany expressed her excitement about venturing into new territory, stating, "This is a completely unique experience for us. When the opportunity presented itself, we eagerly embraced the chance to offer a glimpse into our everyday lives and provide an insider look at our family dynamics."

Patrick, along with fellow quarterbacks Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota, wore a microphone throughout the entire 2022 NFL season for the show. He expressed his desire for the series to showcase that professional athletes can lead "normal" personal lives. According to Patrick, the audience will not only witness the hard work involved in football, but also witness how these athletes balance their careers with their personal lives and see them as regular individuals with families. He believes that this will highlight the possibility of excelling in one's profession while also having a fulfilling family life.

The athlete not only values his family, but also takes his role on the field seriously. On Tuesday, July 18, the official Instagram page of the Kansas City Chiefs posted a video of Patrick speaking to reporters about the significance of training camp.

"We enjoy ourselves out here, but it's important to be prepared to put in the work," he stated in the clip. "I always say, if you can survive Andy Reid's training camp, you can handle an entire NFL season."

At the Quarterback premiere, Brittany, who started dating Patrick in high school, contemplated the surreal experience of witnessing her husband fulfill his dream of playing professional football. She expressed her delight, acknowledging that the reality differed from her initial expectations, but nonetheless found every aspect of it enjoyable.
