Talus Hearts in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Make the most of them with these tips

Throughout the journey across Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players will frequently encounter Stone Talus' and their formidable attacks. These imposing creatures require players to stun them and target their weak points in order to overcome them. However, the rewards for defeating a Stone Talus are well worth the effort - players can expect to collect an array of valuable loot, including a variety of gems and stones, as well as the elusive Stone Talus' Heart.

Getting a Stone Talus Heart in TotK

When facing a Stone Talus in the early stages of the game, players may find it challenging to defeat the creature with limited heart containers. However, players can use the Recall ability to stun the Talus by redirecting its rock throw back at it, leaving it vulnerable for the player to climb up and attack its weak point. Blunt weapons like clubs and hammers are the most effective against the Talus, given its stone structure. Additionally, players can use the Ascend ability to climb the Talus with ease. Upon defeating the Stone Talus, players can find the Heart among the items it drops, which, while too large to fit into the inventory, can prove to be incredibly useful.

How to Use a Stone Talus Heart

By using the Ultrahand and Fuse on the Heart, players can access a variety of powerful weapons that also serve as exceptional mining equipment. Fusing the Heart to a one-handed weapon creates a one-handed club, while fusing it to a two-handed weapon creates a larger hammer. Alternatively, players can fuse the Heart to a Spear to create a Stone Talus Sledge, which strikes quicker but has a smaller area of effect. These weapons are particularly effective when fighting other Talus' due to their bludgeoning properties. Using the Recall trick, players can easily stun and destroy Stone Talus to obtain the necessary materials for crafting. Furthermore, Stone Talus will respawn after a Blood Moon, allowing players to obtain more materials as needed.
