Despite presenting a united front on The Valley, Jesse Lally had a feeling that his wife Michelle Lally might have been unfaithful before they decided to split.
In a preview of the upcoming episode of The Valley, Jesse and Michelle are seen responding to Kristen Doute's allegations that she was aware of hidden details about their relationship.
Jesse tells Michelle that Kristen is becoming pathological in her lying. Michelle responds by saying that Kristen doesn't know anything about their marriage.
During their conversation, Jesse questions Michelle's denial of Kristen's allegations.
He believes that standing up for each other is bringing them closer together. Hearing hurtful comments about his partner was difficult for him, causing him to lose sleep over it.
Earlier this season, Jax Taylor and Luke Broderick hinted at Michelle being unfaithful. Luke, 32, suggested he had damaging information about Jesse and Michelle's marriage. Meanwhile, Jax, 44, mentioned Michelle's strong connection with an unnamed director.
Viewers learned more details during the episode that aired on Tuesday, April 23. Kristen, who is 41 years old, told the producers that Michelle had a secret boyfriend. It was revealed back in March that Jesse and Michelle had decided to separate after being married for almost six years, following the end of filming for season 1.
Kristen boldly stated on camera, "She had a boyfriend for a whole year. There, I said it. Now she's defending him instead of me." She went on to explain, "Around a year ago, Michelle and Jesse were really unhappy. Michelle was involved with another guy. They were spending time together. I didn't have a problem with any of it because I don't think highly of Jesse."
Jesse and Michelle missed hearing Kristen's hot-mic moment because they were in a different room. However, Jesse reveals in a teaser for the next episode that he was curious about Michelle's recent behavior.
He shares, "It keeps bothering me. I noticed you went out with your friends. Why didn't you post any pictures of you all having drinks or something?" Jesse wonders, "Did she really go out with her friends, or is she secretly meeting someone else? It just keeps growing in my mind. Then I start getting all these wild thoughts."
Jesse shares in a confessional about his suspicions, mentioning, “She used to get mad at me in the early days of our relationship. If I placed my phone face down, she would quickly do the same.”
He goes on to say, “For years, she wouldn't go out for a margarita without posting a boomerang. But suddenly, she stopped posting altogether. Her excuse was, ‘Sometimes I just need a break from social media.’ That's nonsense. She never took a break from social media, not even once.”
Michelle reassures Jesse that he doesn't need to worry about her hiding anything from him. "You shouldn't have that thought in your mind, and you shouldn't be thinking like that," she says. "We've always been honest with each other and have never had to worry in our relationship."
Jesse shares in the video why he never considered getting a divorce, even though Michelle had expressed unhappiness before. He explains that his strong belief in commitment stems from observing his own parents and grandparents, who stayed together through thick and thin. For Jesse, making a commitment to someone means sticking by them no matter what. He values his family immensely and is determined to do whatever it takes to keep them together. Jesse sees their commitment to each other as a significant and non-negotiable aspect of their relationship.
The Valley airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET and is available to stream on Peacock the next day.
Editor's P/S:
The article details the crumbling relationship between Jesse and Michelle Lally, who have been plagued by infidelity rumors throughout their time on "The Valley." Despite presenting a united front, Jesse harbored suspicions about his wife's loyalty. Kristen Doute's revelation that Michelle had a secret boyfriend for a year further fueled these suspicions, causing Jesse to question his wife's recent behavior and the sudden change in her social media habits.
Michelle's denial and assurances of honesty fell short of convincing Jesse, who had observed her past behavior and the absence of social media posts that had been a regular occurrence in their relationship. Jesse's commitment to his marriage, rooted in the example of his parents and grandparents, made him reluctant to consider divorce despite the challenges they faced. However, the allegations and his own doubts continue to cast a shadow over their relationship.
