Michelle Lally and Jesse Lally from The Valley did not have a typical meet cute story.

In the episode aired on Tuesday, April 9, the couple, who are now estranged, were questioned about how they first met. Jesse remembered, "We met during an office meeting, and then I suggested meeting up for coffee," as he shared with their fellow cast members at an event.

Michelle, however, saw things differently during their first meeting.

"We were supposed to just go on a date that night, and I thought, 'Okay, let's meet so I can make sure you're not crazy,'" she explained. "He talked a lot but didn't ask me anything. I thought, 'I won't take him seriously, I'll just have fun.' So, I texted him at midnight to come over immediately."

According to Jesse, that ultimately led to them officially dating. “I walked in and immediately took off her jean shorts and we have been together ever since,” he shared.

In a confessional, Michelle admitted there was a “real story” she didn’t initially mention.

She explained that even though they had coffee, she knew he was not The One. Despite this, she felt very attracted to him. She ended up canceling their first date to go out partying with her girlfriends. After getting super drunk, she had the desire for a booty call and decided to call him. Now, she finds herself in the world's longest booty call.

Before joining The Valley, Jesse and Michelle became engaged in November 2017 after dating for several years. They exchanged vows one year later at the Beaulieu Garden in California. Their family grew with the arrival of their daughter Isabella in 2020.

In March, it was confirmed that Jesse and Michelle had separated after almost six years of marriage. This became evident when they did not walk the red carpet together at The Valley premiere party. Viewers quickly noticed issues in their relationship as both Jesse and Michelle had openly talked about what was missing in their marriage.

During the latest episode, Jesse opened up to Jax Taylor about the current state of their relationship, describing it as "bad."

Jesse shared that his life coach advised him not to touch or make comments about a woman's appearance if she feels uncomfortable. He mentioned that the woman no longer appreciates compliments from him because she believes they are insincere.

Another example Jesse provided was about how their relationship has evolved. He recalled a time when Michelle used to engage in adventurous activities with him, like wearing a trench coat and experimenting with hot wax. However, now she is hesitant even about lighting a candle in their home, expressing concerns about the scent.

Michelle had previously shared with Us that she had no regrets about displaying their problems on screen. In March, she mentioned that people had told her, "When you watch the show, you're going to realize how you guys actually are," as it can be hard to see things clearly when you're in the midst of it. Looking back, she acknowledged, "Oh wow. It's obvious we have some marital issues."

She continued by expressing her desire for fans to understand their authenticity. They made a conscious effort to be genuine and transparent, refusing to fake anything for the sake of reality TV. Their decision was to fully open up their lives, showcasing both the positive and negative aspects.

Catch The Valley on Bravo every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET, with the option to stream it on Peacock the following day.
