The second chapter of Honkai Impact 3rd is currently in development. HoYoverse has recently unveiled the first glimpse of Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2, a fresh narrative that continues the story from where Honkai Impact 3rd (Part 1) concluded.
Despite the title, players of Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 do not require any previous knowledge of the series to appreciate it. Part 2 introduces a completely new cast on the planet Mars. The trailer showcases diverse settings, ranging from expansive deserts reminiscent of Dune to bustling commercial streets. Overall, Mars exudes a futuristic atmosphere akin to what was previously seen in Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail.
Apart from introducing a fresh storyline, captivating characters, and an entirely new world, Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 takes the combat system up a notch by adding more intelligent monsters that can adapt to your every move. What's more, characters now have the freedom to jump effortlessly, a capability that was absent in the original Honkai Impact 3rd. Additionally, a new feature called the Astral Ring has been incorporated, which, when activated, enables the simultaneous unleashing of powerful skills by multiple characters. This not only showcases stunning visual effects but also provides a more straightforward and effective means of inflicting massive damage, as stated in the press release.
Honkai Impact 3rd takes place in a world corrupted by a substance known as Honkai, which shares similarities to miasma or radioactive energy. This dangerous substance has the ability to transform individuals into zombies and create menacing Honkai Beasts, posing a significant threat to all forms of life. The world relies solely on Valkyries, special girls who possess genes resistant to Honkai, as their last hope in combating this destructive force.
It has been established by HoYoverse that Honkai Impact 3rd was merely the first installment of a larger narrative. Recently, in February, the story reached its final chapter, known as Version Kiana. In total, Honkai Impact 3rd comprises 35 chapters. The connection between the second part of Honkai Impact 3rd and the initial saga remains uncertain.
Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 is currently scheduled to release in February 2024.
