Since its official release in September 2020, Genshin Impact has been steadily approaching its 3rd anniversary, during which HoYovese has continuously expanded the game with exciting additions. Soon, players will have the opportunity to venture into a new major region, as confirmed through recent promotional videos and live stream events. Version 4.0 will finally introduce the highly anticipated Fontaine region.

Most Genshin Impact fans find the addition of a new major region to be the most exciting event. However, many players are facing a significant issue with the game's file size. A Reddit user named Kuraku4 has initiated a discussion on the game's main subreddit, expressing their concern about the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.0 update, which will occupy 32GB of storage. This growing file size poses a bigger challenge for mobile players compared to PC and PlayStation users who generally have more storage capacity. Several comments have highlighted the issue of certain devices needing to redownload the entire game with each update.

To free up space, the most effective approach would be to delete and reinstall the game whenever a new version becomes available. While there is no official information regarding the size of the Fontaine region, considering the previous addition of Sumeru, which surpassed Liyue and Mondstadt combined in size, players can anticipate a similar scale for the Hydro region.

The promotional videos have confirmed that the main city of Fontaine in Genshin Impact has a futuristic design and will be characterized by the presence of various rivers, reflecting Hydro as the region's representative element. In terms of new playable units, a considerable number of Genshin Impact characters have been unveiled. However, for the upcoming update 4.0, HoYoverse has only officially confirmed the addition of Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet to the playable roster.

Interestingly, even before these three characters have joined the playable roster, Genshin Impact has already announced two new characters, Wriothesley and Neuvillette, who will be introduced in update 4.1. These characters are anticipated to have a higher five-star rarity.
