Avril Lavigne and ex Tyga sparked reconciliation rumors after being spotted attending the same Independence Day party post-split.

Lavigne, aged 38, and Tyga, aged 33, made an entrance at Nobu restaurant in Malibu on Tuesday, July 4th, dressed in matching white ensembles. While they walked together amidst the crowd, there were no photographs capturing them holding hands.

This July 4th celebration followed their recent meet-up at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 1st. According to reports, Tyga observed Lavigne's performance with Marshmello before showcasing his own talents later in the evening.

Lavigne and the rapper's romance rumors sparked in February when they were seen enjoying a dinner date in Los Angeles. Later that same month, it was confirmed that the “Complicated” singer had ended her engagement to Mod Sun, after being together for over two years. (According to a source, the former couple had been "estranged for months" before their split became public.)

After their breakup, Lavigne's bond with Tyga flourished. During March, the pair ventured to a Paris soiree hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio and shared a passionate kiss at the Mugler X Hunter Schafer Party while in France for fashion week.

The unexpected romance between the two had been years in the making, as they had previously maintained a close friendship. A source revealed exclusively to Us during that month that their connection naturally evolved into something more.

Lavigne and Tyga ended their relationship in June, but there are no ill feelings between them. They intend to remain friends and their connection is purely platonic. Following the news of Lavigne's newfound single status, Mod Sun seemingly alluded to his ex-fiancée in his recent single, titled "From Strangers to Lovers to Strangers." He previewed a snippet of the song on June 21 through Instagram.

"I recall the love I had for you even before our initial encounter. I caught sight of you on television, then our paths finally crossed through a mutual acquaintance," he croons. "Eventually, we commenced conversing online, transitioning from unfamiliar individuals to passionate partners, only to eventually find ourselves as strangers once more."

Prior to her relationships with Mod Sun and Tyga, the renowned "Sk8er Boi" artist was previously wedded to Deryck Whibley, the lead vocalist of Sum 41, from 2006 until 2010. She then moved on to Chad Kroeger, the vocalist of Nickelback, whom she exchanged vows with in 2013. Sadly, their union came to an end two years later.

Tyga has a 10-year-old son named King Cairo from his previous relationship with Blac Chyna. They started dating in 2011, got engaged briefly, and then split up in 2014. Afterward, Tyga began a new relationship with Kylie Jenner, who is the sister of Rob Kardashian, with whom Chyna shares a 6-year-old daughter named Dream. However, Tyga and Kylie officially ended their on-again, off-again relationship in 2017.
