Summary
Jake Bartok, a talented Star Wars fan artist, has created a stunning illustration of Jaina Solo, one of the most popular characters from the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
Bartok's illustration flawlessly captures Jaina's striking similarity to her mother and remains faithful to the previous Star Wars book cover depictions of the character.
Originally, there was a Sword of the Jedi trilogy project in the works that aimed to delve into Jaina's pivotal role within the New Jedi Order. Regrettably, this plans were abandoned following Disney's acquisition of the franchise. However, if fresh tales within the Legends continuity are given the green light, there is a possibility for Jaina to make a triumphant return.
A talented Star Wars fan artist has beautifully depicted Jaina Solo, known as the "Sword of the Jedi" in the Legends storyline, as created by Luke Skywalker. Jaina was born to Han Solo and Leia Organa five years after the Battle of Endor, alongside her twin brother Jacen Solo. She grew up to become a valued member of Luke's New Jedi Order in the Legends universe. Renowned for her popularity in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Jaina is the focus of an awe-inspiring piece of fan art. Freelance illustrator and comic book artist Jake Bartok recently showcased his portrayal of Jaina Solo on Twitter, showcasing her in a pilot uniform and wielding her distinctive purple lightsaber.
Bartok's rendition accurately captures the resemblance between Jaina and her mother, in alignment with the traditional depiction of the character on Star Wars book covers.
Jaina Solo Almost Had Her Own Trilogy
Star Wars author Christie Golden had been chosen to write a trilogy called Sword of the Jedi, which would have explored the character of Jaina after the events of the Fate of the Jedi series. Unfortunately, Disney's acquisition of the franchise led to the cancellation of this project. Despite Jaina's prominence in the Expanded Universe (EU), she took a backseat to her brother Jacen and younger brother Anakin Solo in The New Jedi Order and Legacy of the Force series. The Sword of the Jedi trilogy aimed to give Jaina more attention and delve deeper into her role within the New Jedi Order.
Although Jaina cannot make a comeback in the official Star Wars canon, there is still a possibility for her to appear in licensed material. If Lucasfilm ever agrees to new stories within the Legends continuity, Sword of the Jedi should be prioritized as one of the initial projects, picking up where the last chronological Star Wars novels concluded. Whether Jaina returns to the Star Wars universe or not, she will always be celebrated as one of the most notable Jedi within the Expanded Universe.
