Twitch streamer HydraSZN is urging the platform to overturn his permanent ban, admitting to a regrettable joke he made, yet pointing out other streamers with more severe transgressions who have not faced any consequences.
Before his ban, HydraSZN had accumulated a considerable following of 20,000 on Twitch, where he was predominantly recognized in the Fortnite community. Despite the setback, he remains hopeful for an opportunity to redeem himself, considering his channel's growing popularity.
In case he is unable to secure an unban, HydraSZN intends to transition to the competitor platform Kick, which not only provides more favorable revenue sharing options but also has faced scrutiny due to concerns regarding security and its affiliation with gambling platforms.
Twitch streamer HydraSZN is appealing to the platform to reconsider his recent permanent ban, which was imposed following backlash over an offensive joke made during one of his streams. Twitch, the massive streaming platform owned by Amazon, has a history of handing out significant bans to well-known creators, including popular streamers like Adin Ross and Fousey. Some of these creators have even switched to rival platforms. Now, HydraSZN, who had 20,000 followers on his Twitch channel before the ban, is requesting that Twitch lift his ban. He was known for his presence in the Fortnite community on the site but was permanently banned after making a sexualized joke about children during a Fortnite match. This incident was cited as the primary reason for his ban by Twitch. Hydra now hopes to be given a second chance by the platform.
Expressing his thoughts in a tweet regarding the video that led to Hydra's Twitch ban, the streamer appeals to the platform for reconsideration. While acknowledging that he deserves the criticism for the insensitive joke made during the stream, Hydra points out that other streamers on Twitch have committed more severe offenses without facing similar consequences. He believes that an indefinite ban is an excessive punishment and states that he does not deserve it. Hydra also mentions the recent achievements of his channel, surpassing the significant milestone of 20,000 followers earlier in August.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Hydra's future on Twitch, the streamer has already revealed his plans in the event that his channel remains banned. Shortly after being banned, Hydra conducted a livestream on the streaming platform competitor Kick to discuss his future plans. Moving to Kick wouldn't be unprecedented for a banned creator, as other notable streamers like Adin Ross and Hikaru Nakamura have already made the transition.
Hydra's decision to join Kick comes at a time when the platform, co-founded by the popular streamer Trainwrecks, has been making a significant impact in the streaming community. One notable aspect of Kick is its offering of a more favorable revenue split for creators, with streamers benefiting from a 95/5 split. This has attracted big names like xQc to migrate to Kick. However, critics of the new streaming platform have raised concerns about its weak security measures and its association with gambling platforms supported by Stake, a gambling site. Hydra and his fans will undoubtedly hope that Twitch reconsiders their decision to ban the creator from their platform.
