Twitch, the popular streaming platform owned by Amazon, recently made headlines after banning Hunter 'SicK' Mims, a skilled Valorant player. SicK, who is known for his impressive gaming abilities in titles such as Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, has gained a significant following in the esports community. However, he has faced multiple controversies in recent months. In March, SicK was arrested for criminal trespassing and spent two days in jail. Unfortunately, he was arrested again for the same offense earlier this month. Adding to his troubles, SicK received a two-week ban from Twitch on May 23. Confused about the reason for the ban, he sought support from Twitch and threatened legal action if the ban was not lifted. SicK even considered switching to an alternative platform, Kick, for the duration of the ban or even permanently if he felt that Twitch was unfairly targeting him.
While SicK awaits a response from Twitch regarding his alleged unfair ban, he has already found a new streaming platform on Kick. In a tweet, SicK praised Kick's clean user interface and lack of overly strict rules, which he had encountered on Twitch. He even expressed considering making Kick his primary streaming platform and hinted at a potential sponsorship opportunity with Trainwreck. SicK's positive experience contrasts with his previous encounters on Twitch and its lack of transparency in banning popular streamers. In fact, PewDiePie's Twitch channel was also unexpectedly suspended this month, leaving fans speculating about the cause behind the ban. Twitch typically refrains from publicly disclosing the reasons behind bans, but it remains to be seen whether SicK will receive clarification and potentially take legal action against the platform.
